iPhone 5 Tariffs

I remember some chap who made a spreadsheet of all the tariffs and total costs for iPhone 4S, we need one of those.

I did one last time, but won't do one for the 5 because I know which network I'll be going with. Looks like someone has done one already for the 5 though :)

U'll be going with Vodafone because I can get it for half the monthly price because the gf works for them. I'll be going for their 37 per month plus 100 for the handset.

You'd have to be barmy to get the Vodafone 47per month, because the 42 per month plan offers the same minutes etc. for £70 less over the two years in total, with only 49 up front.

I'll go for either the 42 or 37 per month because that's cheaper again, and 1gb of data will be plenty for me. Although with it being half price for me, there's not much in it in terms of total cost, so I might opt for the lower up front instead. I've not done all the maths yet.

Tmobile look good from mobiles.co.uk.

£25 cash back through quidco and £10 cheaper for the handset than directly from Tmobile.

Great for those who don't want to go with three because of coverage problems.

Ok so I've knocked up a quick spreadsheet to show the total cost for a few different tariffs, all of o2, orange, 3 and some of T-Mobile. I've also included the lowest total cost for each size of iPhone 5.

If anyone wants anything adding just let me know.

Where did you get the o2 prices for the iPhones from? I can see their tariffs are up but not the handset prices.

Best deal I've worked out so far is Vodafone SIMO £20.50 a month.
Phone: £529
Monthly: £20.50
Cashback: £60.60
Selling my BB9900: £150
Overall cost for 1 year: £564.40

Phone worth about £300 at the end of it, £265, approx £22 a month to own an iPhone for a year.
This is man maths at it's finest ;)

Vodafone offered this particular tarrif to me over the phone about a month ago with a £5 discount, gonna think about whether I actually want an iPhone before badgering the upgrades team.

However, I'm tempted by full monty sim only on t-mob as I will be able to move to everything everywhere, with the overall cost going up to £610.80. Gonna see what Voda come back with when I give them a ring :)

I don't take out contracts with phones (although I only buy the refresh of the iPhone when ever it's release) I always think it works out cheaper to have a rolling 12 month contract and buy the phone / sell it on.

Currently = £26 per month. Unlimited texts. 1GB Data and 6000 minutes.

I only ~really download things at home on the wifi and mainly browsing when out and about, occasionally use maps. Never really come close to my 1GB cap.

Same.

I asked vodafone for my PAC code to go to GiffGaff and they gave me

£10.25 600 mins, Ultd Texts, 1GB Data and 100 Picture messages per month.... kinda bit their hand off, hard.

My Theory is right.

It is cheaper to buy the phone out right and bang in a sim only package.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Ive decided and just ordered an unlocked one from Apple, and will stick in a £12.90/m sim from three.

then sell it when the 5s comes out (should be able to get £250+ for it in good condition). Works out cheaper and have a lot more freedom in terms of switching network when LTE comes along.

Only downside is i have to wait an extra week or so to get it :(

Okay wow didn't realise three had such good SIMO plans.

16gb SIM free: 529
Three SIMO 600/5000/1gb: 12.90
Cashback: £58.58
Sell BB for £150.
Total cost for 1 year: £475.

Can do the same but with all you can eat data for £19 more over the entire year.

Sell for £300 at the end of 12 months.... £175 on service and 'renting' an iphone for a year. Can that be beaten?!
