iPhone 6+ bendgate issue.

I've been reading through reddit and the macrumours thread a bit, there are more then a few cases of bends and all of them say they only had the 6+ in their front pockets. I appreciate phones have bent before, but this already appears a much more wide-spread thing then before.

The phone is thinner with a much weaker looking rounded frame, couple that with the iphone 6+'s size and it seems like a more serious issue then ever before.

Sit on something thin and metal in your back pocket and it will bend. It's physics.

As I said above nearly all the cases are people claiming to have never had the phone in their back pockets. I think putting a phone in your front pocket and having it not bend is a reasonable expectation for a phone, don't you?

Its unacceptable to have a phone of that price "bend" in anyway from being in the front pocket of your jeans.

Well in that case, the people at Apple should have anticipated this and made it from an alternative material or sacrificed its thickness for some kind of reinforcement, its not acceptable when you consider what the item is and how it is normally carried.

There's no proof, other than a handful of anecdotal cases on the internet. It's been shown above that similar claims were made about the 5/5S and that didn't explode into a massive thing that caused Apple to implode and Steve Jobs to spin in his grave.

I've been carrying mine around in a front pocket and it's perfectly flat.

Is yours a 6 plus? I wouldnt be too concerned myself about a regular 6, also you have only had it a week, most people, myself included, will be expecting this phone to last 24 months, plenty of time for it to be in a situation where it gets bent unintentionally.

Standard 6, and it's now in a spigen case since the man from Amazon turned up last night. The clip on case for the old iPhone 4 saved it's bacon a couple of times.

I can see how the 6 plus would be more susceptible to the bends - it's approximately the same thickness but longer so the lever effect would increase the forces when sat on!

What's retarded about putting your phone in your front pocket and not expecting it to bend? I've been doing exactly that with my 4S for 3 years and it's still perfectly flat and without a scratch on it.

I just hope this is an issue that just affects some unlucky customers rather than a design flaw.

Just waiting for the Apple press release where they say that other make phones also bend in the same conditions and its not just an Apple issue.
Or where they say that people are using their phones wrong and not the "Apple Way"....

Surely only a tard would put a £600 electronic device in a stress position for hours on end?

Presumably a samsung device would just snap? :D

Its interesting seeing people 'defend' an electronic device, its an object.

Fact is never heard of any device from any company bend in the pocket in the history of mobile phones.

In short its a design flaw, that will hopefully only reveal itself on a limited number of devices, those customers who do not carry the phone in their pocket (a majority of women for example - I have seen most women put their phone in their bag)...........however its a design flaw, apples desire to make it slim overrode basic phone construction............there getting ahead of themselves perhaps and starting to forget the basics.
