Absolutely right.

I can guarantee if apple released a phone that couldn't make calls, the fans would claim apple were embracing the future and you shouldn't be using the phone to actually phone people but use iMessage and social media.

Some of the people on macrumours for example are embarrassing with how far they'll go to defend a faceless manufacturer. As far as these people are concerned apple can do no wrong, it's always the users at fault.

I know some people are mentioning previous bending issues with other manufacturers, but let's face it big phones have been around for a good few years now and if bending was a common issue we would have heard about it by now.

No doubt from this point on any future phones will now undergo "bend tests" as well as drop tests etc.

Im still waiting for mine also, but theres no way im putting it in a chest pocket or anything above my waist, just wait til you bend down to pick something up, forgetting its in there, and you watch it crash to the floor.
A phone in a bag is worthless to me, Im always calling the wife out over the fact she never answers her phone because she cant hear it from the bottom of her bag, i shall be buying jeans with deeper pockets!

I'd be very very surprised if any phone manufacturer doesn't already have extensive bend tests.

It would be a pretty standard (and obvious) thing to test which is why I'm sceptical of 'BendGate' and am keeping my order open for the time being.

Didnt even have to hunt for it. First page of google hits for "HTC one bend". I'd argue there'd probably be even more hits were the iPhone not hot news at the minute. It is constructed differently though, the iPhone is a complete aluminium chassis, whereas the HTC is part plastic. The HTC also is 25% thicker and has a curved construction, which im sure provides more rigidity than iPhones flat design.

I'm not saying the iPhone bending isnt an issue, but statements like that are daft.

thats strange my friend tested his and nothing

I guess both bend but iphone 6 bends easier
 
It's a shame isn't, Apple are such a huge brand that practically every single one of their flaws are paraded and design decisions mocked by thousands.

Bigger phone = ah you're copying
Headphone socket on the bottom = whoopy do
Glass front and back = it's going to break nanana
Charger socket change = how dare they
No NFC = hahah mine does
With NFC = if your photo's aren't safe then why is your money

If you dare to enjoy their products you're deemed a fanboy.

However, this bending issue is a genuine design flaw and I do wonder how they plan to fix it. I don't wear pipe cleaners so it shouldn't be an issue but anyone saying it's obvious a phone this thin would bend is only lying to themselves.

I'm surprised apple are not marketing it as a feature - the worlds first smartphone that bends to the shape of your arse!
