Well if they go too big they will hit the ipad mini field and could eat into sales. I am not sure making it bigger then the 5s is a good idea, I want a phone not a tablet device. For people who have tablets it could be a turn off having a bigger size.

They'd do more by doing a 'WOW' style move by something like 50 hours (for example) 4G/LTE battery life. Sure slap fancy CPU's, bigger screens etc but I think most users still want the basics improved. Moving from 5 to 5s I am starting to ponder what else they can do to improve it and I doubt ill buy an S version again.

If they do release two sizes, I think one will be 4" and one will be 4.7 or 5".

Yeah, I think we well see 2 iPhones, a 4" and a newer model with a 4.5-4.7". I think they really need it, 4" is just small these days for a lot of people.

I think it's more likely there will be just one flagship model as usual and it'll be 4.5/4.7". Done right it isn't too big in the hand. Just look at the Moto X (4.7) next to the iPhone 5 for example.

I think they well straggle a bit getting anything similar too the Moto X if they go for 4.7". The home button is just too big, and they well need bezel at the top to house the camera which takes the full z-index basically from turn downs, and for symmetry.

It should indeed mean this. However, generally speaking a bigger phone = bigger screen = more power usage.

If Apple keeps the same thickness then all the size gains could equal battery gain. They could even drop to a slightly smaller motherboard/CPU freeing up more space. iOS is very aggressive on things like multitasking so they already have a very battery efficient OS. I think at 4/5" with 2000mha we could see great battery gains.

anyone evening thinking of upgrading from the 5s to the 6 should be instantly slapped in the face then shot....

There's just no need for it, at all....

A lot of people seem to want to have their cake and eat it for the next update. If you make a 4.5" screen with double the current resolution, you'll need a much bigger battery just to keep the stand-by or use time you already have.

Maybe if Apple want to innovate again they should look at commercialisation of Li-S batteries (Lithium Sulfur) much better energy density than current tech used.

I think a bigger screen is needed, because compared to the competition it's just small, plus another key is decent battery life - my 4s is lucky to last a day.

They also need to make iOS better, which they may have done, but on my 4s it runs like a dog and crashes a lot.

I personally think the 5 and 5s didn't add much value and it was a bit of a proverbial take on apples part. I've got a 5s for work and can't see the value over the 4s accept it's faster.

One thing I would be interested in is faster charge times, the Note 3 for example charges faster then the 5s with a battery more then twice the size. That is just crazy.

Get the 12watt /2.1amp ipad charger (or third party equivalent) and it will charge nearly twice as fast.

But you have that added work, its one of the things I love about Android. Being really into Anime I can throw a AAC anime file on my phone and it works, not issues and I really just love that.

On the iPad I also tend to convert stuff, more to try and reduce the black pars as much as possible, not paying to waste 35% of my screen on a black par Lol.

Oplayer HD will play any format (inc AAC) without converting and you can double tap/zoom on a video to remove the black bars with no conversion.

It's going to have to be something big for me, a lot of the flagship androids are catching my eye, can't see apple bringing out enough of a game changer unfortunately.

Thats really cool, double tapping zooms in which means you lose some content unless Oplayer does something different. For the iPhone it isn't a issue but for the iPad you start to get as much blackbars as content, but it is prefect for almost everything else.

I hope they resist te bigger screen, apple seem to be the last bastion of the decent spec phone with a sensible screen size! I'll let them off if the from factor doesn't grow but any bigger and I will be disapointed.

I'm with the longer battery life brigade too, my phone does everything I want I just wish it stayed alive longer!

I don't seem then not releasing at least 1 bigger iPhone. My guess is a 4" and 4.5-4.7" models that both have the same internals and specs, then keeping the 5C as the cheaper device. Every other apple device has 2 sizes, iPads come in 7.9 and 9.7, Airs are 11/13, MBP are 13/15 and iMacs are 21/27. Seems like the best idea to get 2 sizes for iPhones too, it well also keep everyone happy. I would guess for ever price that doesn't want a bigger phone there is a person that does.

If they offer a screen size around 5" I might actually be tempted to leave Android for a year or so, the S5 being plastic again has put me right off. Then again the untidiness of the iOS homescreen drives me mad on my iPad.

We'll iOS runs properly on the 5 and 5S so there's some value there ...

Hmm, they need to be careful, ATM apple looks different than Samsung, but widen that next phone and get ready for more lawsuits lol
