Agree, thinner just strikes me as being a waste of usable battery volume! Grrrr!

It does to me. It will allow for a larger battery with the dimensions being bigger, but any gain is wiped out by any increased power and the larger screen.

I'd rather have a 'fatter' phone and have enough battery to use the phone, than have something that's basically left for show.

Unless the battery can do two full days there's very little point increasing it.

If your phone is not lasting a full day with reasonable use then you are probably in a poor signal area which is guaranteed to spank any battery.

You can still get a fairly big battery in a thin phone (as long as the phone is larger).

Off course, but at 4.7" I don't think the phone is large enough to fit anything more then a 2200mha given how thin the rumours are. The Moto X is pretty thick by todays standards and much smaller then the leaks of the 6 and it fits a 2200mha, if apple have anything smaller then that, then just face palm.

But there is a lot of condense cities these days, and signal just isn't going to be great. My phone battery life was 50% better when I'm outside London for example, and some places are a lot worse.

Also I think a phone with 1.5days battery life with typical usage is ideal, for those times you forgot to charge it, or late friday nights.

All the leaks have been along those lines, I don't generally like white but in black that should look good and will hopefully feel good in the hand too.

To be fair I just want the same thing as my 5S with a bigger screen and general upgrades, so I won't be too hard to please. :p

I understand that they need to keep their iconic design but this IMO doesn't look fresh and new like it should do.

Like when it went from the 3GS to the 4. That was a worthy leap.

Are you just going off the front though? I think a change of style for the home button would be a good idea but it might throw off the fingerprint sensor. Samsung's version is rubbish compared. :(

Aside from the button (and slightly large bezel), the front is just a black slab on the iPhone if you've got a black model, which I quite like - similar to the Nexus.

And this sort of idea for the back:

I do like that.

The whole. They seem to have run out of fresh ideas.

The mockup does look cheap but then the real-deal should look a little better with the chamfered front.

Still not impressed for such a design orientated company. The camera position and home button is killing their potential to make a super design.

The bezels are obscene!

The bezels are obscene but I've been playing about with 5s's in shops and the camera is soooo much faster than my s4 or any of the other droids I've had I'm sick of getting photos of a second after I press, I can see myself buying a 6 based solely on the camera speed, unless further info proves me wrong.

This has been vastly improved in the 2014 Android flagships:

The S4 is indeed far behind.

Ah, the aforementioned further information, ta kona, I'll test an s5 too, I wouldn't buy the ip6 until I know all there is to know about the Note 4 or s5P, I hope their cameras live up to the chart you posted.

These mockups are VERY rough around the edges, but I think the finished article, in black, should look good.

I think they'll be able to squeeze a 2200 mAh battery in there at the very least.

Thanks for the link. I'm sure the curve build will feel so much bigger, but the strong lines is something I have always found to be nice. I think its the plastic parts really ruin the build. I also think they might fit a bigger battery, the bezel are much bigger so I think it is to accommodate a slightly large albeit thinner battery. It looks a lot like the iPod touch.

Also it looks huge next too the Moto X which is really disappointing, if this leak is to be believe it looks like it could have a much bigger screen on it.

I'd be very surprised if those plastic 'band' bits on the back actually looked like that. Surely they'll be a lot smarter.

I'm on a rolling contract at present with a N5 until the 6 is announced.

I do like the 6 and where it's headed with the 4.7" screen. Loved the form of the iPod Touch so a larger version of that sounds awesome.

But the 5S is still a cracking bit of kit so I could be swayed to get that if the 6 doesn't price me out of it.

If I'm being honest, I'll probably end up going for the 6 but good to keep the options open anyway.

Im on a rolling contract with my 4S. Waiting for the 6 and so far, liking it. Though the battery life is a worry, as always. The 4S is thin enough, give me the battery life!

Yup, I think a long time apple did ok cause Android phones sorted of sucked too, but the M8/Z2/S5 are all posting very impressive numbers, and in some benchmarks that where very iPhone strong there pulling 20%+ more battery life. This is due to a combination of Android running better, S801 SoC being better and bigger batteries.

I think if Apple decides to make it stupidly thin then they need to be competitive on battery life, or it would be a totally waste in my books. Who wants a thinner device if the battery life is compromised.
