"In the UK, you'll be able to buy the iPhone 6 unlocked from Apple for £539 for the 16GB model, £619 for the 64GB model, and £699 for the 128GB version. Networks including O2, Vodafone, EE, Three, GiffGaff, Virgin, and TalkMobile will offer their own deals, which are yet to be announced."

The 128GB version is probably the best, although pricey. The 64GB seems pointless as you might as well go for the 128GB (for the relatively small increase) and the 16GB will be too small I think.

I just printed the template out.

Holy moly

The iPhone 5s fits on the LCD screen portion of the 6+, that's how big it is! I doubt I'd get that so it looks like I'll go for a regular 6.

Yeah indeed, the 6 is pretty much on the limit size wise for what is OK to put in your pocket in my opinion.

The Plus and other phones similarly sized are just ridiculous

If only Apple could redesign the ear speaker and home button sections to get more screen on a smaller phone.

I don't know why there needs to be a phone in-between the size of a phone and a tablet, it can't be good to use as a phone as it is so big and too small to use as a tablet as I doubt you can touch type on the screen unless you have tiny hands, which then makes the using it as a phone part even worse!

I am sure people will buy it though just because it is called the Plus, so it must be better than the normal 6 :p

Most people tend to like the Note, it's big and fiddly (and the 6+ will be too), but if you want a big screen and great battery it's usually always recommended.

It's a little bit misleading to say "Most people tend to like the Note". Most people tend to like it because they know exactly what they are getting... There's a reason the regular size flagships like the GS5 outsell it, and that's because a giant phone isn't for most people.

I get the impression lots of iphone users are going to be pretty shocked when they receive their shiny new i6+ in the post and actually open it to realise it's more like an ipad mini then an iphone. Lots of users blinded by the glitz of a new release.

Did they say in the keynote why they discontinued the 32Gb version?

I assume its because there is demand to make 32gb the bottom price point, whilst there still being demand for a 16gb model. By dropping 32gb for 64gb, there is more of an incentive for people to upgrade, without Apple reducing their prices.

Guessing it is unusable one handed though? How do you hit back buttons otherwise? Maybe that is why they have implemented the side swipes to move forward and back in iOS 8.

It has a one handed mode which shrinks the screen size for these situations - not read much about it yet though.

That's their problem, the dimensions are there for all to see. :p

I would say to anyone considering it, go to a phone shop and try a Galaxy Note before you order anything.

I agree, so glad I actually made a template as I was going to blind order the Plus because of the battery.

I don't think the 6 plus is for me, it's too long with the big borders, expensive and would make my ipad mini fairly redundant.

Pretty annoyed they've gimped the 6.

Or an LG G3, I have one, its nice. :)

OK so bit sad but I just cut up some thick cardboard to the sizes of the phones and what on earth are Apple thinking, the plus is a monster.
I have a bit larger than average hands at 8.5" (sized up for Golf club grips :p) and it will be way too big for comfortable use, forget about that UI adjust thing, just holding it with one hand will be a nuisance in my opinion.
Really annoying as I wanted the better battery but unless you carry a hand/man bag around with you... I couldn't keep something like that in my jacket or trouser pocket.
The non plus seems on about the limit so will have to settle for marginal if any battery improvement once again.

Is anyone here actually interested in getting the Plus knowing how big it is? If you are and haven't really sized it up I suggest you do similar before pre-ordering one as I was thinking of doing.

Just did the same!

It's too big for my pocket. Would have to take out the phone if i wanted to sit down... lol.

Ok so 6+ is out after making a template.

I feel pretty meh about this release. I was excited for the 5.5" model but I'm not so sure now. The protruding camera, the plastic lines, it just looks... awkward.

Feel quite tempted to snap up an iPhone 5C 32GB whilst I still can, but then I would really like something in between the iPhone 5/C/S size and iPad Mini since I mostly use my phone for browsing, watching videos, playing games, emails and messaging.

Got till December before I can upgrade anyway.

For everyone worrying about if the standard 6 will fit in your pocket, get real. I have an S4, it has a bigger screen and it fits in every set of trousers I've got and you don't even notice it.

I mean the tech press.

There is a huge disparity in the 2, you can't go from a phone that you can't hold at all to its pretty fine in 1 hand unless there hands have grown over the past year.

No it's not. The retina mini has much worse colour range and a lower clocked processor.

That's precisely what narked me off about the mini this time round!

It has 100mhz less clock hardly a change, the 60%~ colour gamut is a fault I forgot about that, but the differences with tie 6+ and 6 are much more, it has a lot more pixels and OIS which are 2 big features, OIS si going to be the biggest camera leap in the iPhone.

Well I was hoping this would be the iPhone that would finally make me plunge into Apple but it's feeling all very underwhelming right now after the launch. Unless that camera and battery life turn out to be amazing in the reviews, I'm looking elsewhere which is a shame.

Yes because we all wear the exact same cut of trousers/jeans with the exact same size pockets :p. I notice mine if I have a wallet in one pocket and the phone in the other and mines just a 4s.

I got one mate with a Note 3 and another with a G3 and both said they got used to the larger size pretty quick. Like going from a 32" TV to a 46" seems huge at first but then you just get used to it.

I tend to make most of my phone calls hands-free so not fussed about how it looks next to my ear, but the extra screen space and battery will be useful for the amount of reading I do on it and for the TomTom app.

I agree that you will get used to the size when using it.

My clothes and pockets however won't...it either fits in my jeans or it doesn't. That unfortauntely is what it comes down to, how convenient it is to carry around.
