If more RAM was not required why did they add more to the Air 2?

Answer: It gives a better user experience and allows better apps.
Why defend Apple being cheap asses if it turns out to be 1GB?

I suspect the reason the Air2 got more RAM had more to do with future iOS updates, and their features, being planned a long time in advance and Apple knowing they wished to implement the new video overlay and two app view into the iPad air 2 and less to do with usability issues from having 1GB Ram.

Lol @ people upgrading from the 6 to 6S. There hasn't been a meaningful change, has there?

The only reason I'm considering going from the 6 to the 6S is because the 6S adds support for band 12 LTE which is important for in building coverage with T-Mobile. If it wasn't for that I definitely wouldn't bother.

16Gb is fine for me, I don't store music or videos on it. If you need more than get the higher model?

The cost for me would be too high to switch to a higher model. I would feel I am being ripped off far too much.

ATM I am on android and will stay on it until iPhone get a bump in basic storage, RAM and battery capacity.

Pretty happy atm with my Z3 Compact anyway atm. Especially since it only cost me £280 brand new. And it meets all of the basic specs I talked about.

I want a Plus, and 3D touch looks pretty cool. Plus I'm a sucker for new tech. :)

Do apple still disallow the download of large apps over mobile data?

I think they do. You used to be able to get around it with Cydia apps, but I don't have the patience to keep up with that game any more.

My enthusiasm for the Mini 4 has been dampened somewhat, it's pretty obvious it's seen as the runt of the litter to Apple. Look at last years effort, the 3 was pretty much a disgrace.

RAM has a serious impact on battery life. There's a balancing act that needs to be done.

Since they'd hopefully be moving from older LPDDR3, to newer tech LPDDR4, not only would the package size be smaller, there is a voltage decrease and a power consumption decrease (between 35-40%).

If RAM was using as much power as you think, then a phone with 3/4GB would need a massive battery to make up just for that, therefore making it pointless.

I am considering the Z3 Compact, the camera looks decent on it too.
