iphone down to £169

Alright fellas,

I'm a bit worried, I jailbreaked my phone using ZiPhone as per the tutorial and I'm now reading rumours that this downgrades the bootloader to a lesser version and Apple might be able to brick the phones that are on the older bootloader?

How much truth is in this and is anyone else in the same situation as me?

why not upgrade the phone on your same contract at £19.99 a month, upgrade to the N95 8GB flog that on ebay as brand new, and use that cash to get the iphone??

I doubt they'd give him a N95 8GB on a £19.99 tariff without him having to stump some money up front. Also the £25 SIMplicity tarrif would have much more mins/texts and the free data so it works out better in my opinion.

does the free data not come as part of contract dealss?

Needs jailbreaking whatever.

Just to make it clear you need to unlock your phone not just jailbreak it. These are 2 different things. Jailbreak = ability to add programs. Unlock = Able to use any sim card except 3 sim cards. You need to unlock the phone if your using any other sim than the O2 CONTRACT sim. Even if your using an 02 PAYG sim you need to unlock the phone.

Any one else getting "error playing movie" on the BBC iPlayer? Can't get any of them to play. Google says it might be something to do with BSD Subsystem but it has me stumped.

Running 1.1.4 jailbroken with ziphone so I'm assuming I'm on bootloader 3.6.

Working fine for me with BSD installed.. only difference is i'm on the newer bootloader, but I don't really see how that would make a difference.

You could try clearing all your safari settings/history and trying it again?

Just ordered one of O2 last night. Do you get the confirmation email about your order being accepted and the tracking number? Or will it just turn up?

Tried that already, didn't make a difference.
