no idea but i did notice that bootneuter which is supposed to put you back to 4.6 is it not?

i ziphoned it, i know i was on 3.9 but bootneuter should put it to 4.6, i just used it....but i am not certain if it worked or not. i just want to confirm it.

well, yeah, but if the stores are selling them to them, what are you gonna do? we haven't signed anything, you just give your EIN.

i've bought one for myself and one for my brother. ones on my staff account & one is on a standard postpay sim.
You have to sign when you buy the phone with a staff discount, it is part of the staff purchase process. I have one of the receipts in front of me here (the unsigned customer copy). Read what is says a bit more closely. ;)

All I'm saying is don't do what your mate did, because it will be *very* easy to check for this kind of abuse by employees, especially if you're doing something stupid like buying 6 phones to sell on ebay.

Oh I see, sorry I mis-read the post. :)

I think either ZiPhone or iLiberty+ tells you that info when you plug the phone in.

not really, i just loaded it. I just want to see the number.....in settings, general, about - nothing about bootloader there.

Id love to know how to copy files (e.g. ScumVM games) to it...

Download:

Putty (not really essential for this but handy for manipulating stuff on the command line)
WinSCP

Setup connection to your phone's IP (Settings --> Wifi --> Info or check your router to see attached devices)

Username root
Password alpine (unless you've changed it)

Putty will give you a UNIX style command line.
WinSCP is a file transfer over SSH client for sending files over.

Create a folder in /var/root called ScummVM, copy your games data files in there.

Install ScummVM from Installer, launch and point at the directory you created.

Sorted :D

Sold my N95 8GB today to buy an iPhone. Got £240 for it which is pretty decent.

I just couldn't get along with it at all, crap ui and menu speeds are horrendous. Using my old k800i until the money clears in my account and everything is so much faster better organised. Nice uncluttered menu and speedy camera and navigation.

Glad I'm shot of the N95 tbh. Bring on the iPhone.

You sir... are a star.
Thank you very much! Will take a gander at this later on.

I'm trying to get this to work, but I keep getting an error when trying to connect "server timed out"

Do you think a restore will help?

Anyone know why when I install apps using WinSCP over SSH they wont work. They appear on the phone fine, icon is on the desktop and that, but they boot and then just hang and the iPhone boots back to the menu.

Do I have to do something special to the app when SCP'in it to the phone? I've set the read/write settings so they are the same as all the other apps.

Ignore my above post, it was indeed to do with permissions. Need to actually change them on the file themself also and not just the folder.

Just remembered if i switch to the iPhone and switch from 3 to O2, then i can take up that special price for O2 customers who sign up to O2 Broadband. Exchange getting activated in June so i could get it for £7.50 :D Another reason to switch!
