I've been looking forward to the stability improvements. My original iPhone hardly crashed at all on the first firmware, but the recent ones have seen it crashing regularly, particularly in Safari. I've had quite a few problems with apps not installing, and being uninstalled too. Quite annoying.

1) Drop a pin somewhere, or search for a location.

2.2 Beta 2 has been. Would think a pwn will be available quite soon.

2.2 has changed the baseband for the 3G so there might be problems in terms of jailbreaking, although this should be overcome. An unlock is even more unlikely.

Not quite sure how it'll work for already pwned phones. IE, if I updated to to 2.2 now... would it delete my jailbroken apps? Or would it simply not allow me to access them?

I would give them a bit longer for a Windows version, for any users on that.

Well you can update sometimes with a pre-pwned phone but it rarely works. If you want to update then a fresh restore is your best bet.

Testing won't take long. Never does. Support? What support? The dev-team have never really given a toss about that really.

I always thought the pwn app was quite well put together

I just updated my pre-pwned 2.1 3G. It worked fine, and just removes any "jailbreak" apps during the update. To be honest I only really had Winterboard anyway so it's no issue, although I also noticed today that MPlayer was available via installer. Ah well.
