Someone mentioned they had a problem activating their iPhone?

I've been typing my details correctly, and god knows i've tried time and time again with no success. I even tried creating a new Apple ID and it said the account-creation service was unavailable

What did you do, did you have to wait it out?

Just tried doing yours now VaderDSL did you?

What it is, I scratched my iPhone so I took it back.. anyway, got new my baby home, popped in my original SIM and proceeded to activate, thus the problem.

I know it's nothing to do with the method (I did the same with a mates and it activated fine), so it might be Apple-end thing :(

Yes, you can, the flaw is that the unlock process is currently difficult and unreliable. Even if it seemed perfect there's always the risk that Apple could disable it with an update, and in any case at all you can't use special features like visual voicemail.

So why not get a 12 month sim only contract and stick it in there for it would be cheaper. or even an o2 PAYG if you wanted that?

Can't believe people STILL can't get their head round the fect you don't get made to take out a contract with it.

Explain this.

Only with a new minimum term 18 month Pay Monthly O2 tariff for iPhone

Only with a new minimum term 18 month...... so why can't you believe it when the site says it? o2 wrong then are they?

EDIT: Sorry double post hit the wrong button.

Err, are you trying to be a bit slow or what?

You DO NOT take out any form of contract when you buy the phone. All the sign-up process is done through itunes when you get the thing home. So, as I've just said, you don't NEED to take any contract out to get hold of one. Whether you can use it properly is a different thing.

Errrrrrrrrrrrrrrr no? I don't own any apple products so stop banging ya gums! So this could be used as as payg phone then? Has anybody got a payg o2 simcard to try it?

Go find your files.. (Music > iTunes > iTunes Music > Artist Name) and copy the files you want to the desktop.

*Your files must be ripped in AAC format, so convert them if they aren't*

Now, on the desktop rename your files from .m4a to .m4r and you're done.

Create a folder in iTunes Music called "Ringtones" and move all the .m4r files to it.

Double click these files and they'll show up in iTunes.

Select these files and sync with your iPhone.

Nice tip..

Run you finger from left to right on an email/message and it will ask you if you want to delete :)

yeah it will take any bluetooth headset..... not stereo headphones tho ( why not i do not know )

Doesnt work for me?

Anyway, ANOTHER question...

Does/Will the iPhone work with Bluetooth Headphones, if it accepts headsets?

In the preview screen.. not on the actual message ;)

Yes, it works with Bluetooth headsets, why wouldn't it?

Stereo bluetooth has been crippled by Apple intentionally, why is anyone's guess.

Once the novelty runs out it does start to look a lot less "great", but then so does everything else I suppose.

Seems to be quite a few people taking their iPhone back - so im just gunna get this in:

I freaking love my iPhone. It is awesome.

:D

Best. Phone. Ever.
I love mine too, just a shame it wasn't available on any O2 UK contract to be honest :o

I think the ringtones sync trick was broke after the last iTunes update.. that's at least my guess.

If you can't find the purchased song anywhere (try spotlighting the track name) then I'd contact Apple directly as they don't allow repeat downloading of purchases.
