That was.. but Engadget (foolishly) only used that picture because it was the most famous "fake mockup" floating around the 'net at the time.
I can see it being thicker, but I've read reports that it's going to be thinner too, so who knows. Logically, it would be thicker if they bumped the battery and added GPS.
P.S. -Image via iPod Observer, MacRumors points out it's probably just a case (which we'd likely agree with); we're not by any means claiming the image above is the new iPhone, just an example of what it could look like given the info we received.
TBH if they keep the same system in place for activation via itunes then with the £170 (inc tax) return flights to the US Delta keep doing and the exchange rate the way it is I can see where my next family holiday will be to ...
Sorry, just to clarify, you do realise you actually need to sign the contract to get the $200 discount, don't you? Just checking. Otherwise, I don't see how the rumoured new pricing without subsidy is any different from the current arrangements...
