That doesn't make sense. no one leaves their phone on standby, people actually use it as well so theres no way you can get 8days out of the orbit realistically. btw the n95 doesn't have a 1 day standby either, i've heard the battery life is 1-2 days with heavy usage.

That comment doesnt make sense, iv not charged mine for 6 days now, and its still fine, got 27% battery left to be exact ;) thats with usual phoning and txting taking place, abit of GPS as I was showing my mate...........and you must have the king of N95's cuz I had one for a couple of weeks, Left it charging over night, left house 9am, was about dead and warning me about battery by 5.30, charge that for a couple of hours then head off out, when get back in it was warning me to charge the battery again, so for normal use it needed charging overnight and once at around 5.30ish, if I didnt it usually died around 8/9pm, barely a days use, I can for sure tell you with average use my orbits still going nearly a week later, no doubt it will need charging tomorrow but a week aint bad, and as origonally stated utterly floors the N95.

Also I told that to my mate that works in vodaphone, he has the exact same experience with them as me (N95's), he fully regrets getting one as he can barely go to work and make it home without the phone screaming to be charged

Is that 6 days with the extended battery? I have not heard of a smartphone that can last that long with the kind of usage you'd put it through,
I don't have the n95 btw, but i've used the N80 for the year and its sort of similar.

Amazing how you are pretty much guaranteeing it will be bug free. Being the sceptic that I am I will say that it will have as many bugs as the next smartphone...

That was posted in January! straight after having heard about the iphone so obviously I was rather excited at the time, so its a little harsh to take that comment out of context.

However I will say, that apple make great products and have very few bugs ever (I am not an apple fanboy by the way). And it seems from the reviews I have read that it runs very well indeed. I am happy as this will force the major mobile phone manufacturers to get their arses in gear. Just look at the way the iphone works - it moves from menu to application effortlessly - unlike Windows mobile as an example or symbian S60 (however obviously far better than the sluggish WM). WM and Symbian will have to react and get their OS's perfect at launch like the iphone seems to have.

standby N95 = 1 day (if lucky)

What a load of poppycock - on standby it will probably last 3 days I would have thought (but whats the point of leaving a phone untouched on standby anyway?) - my N95 goes for 2 days on average (with texting surfing etc). Yes its its biggest flaw, I wish it lasted longer but its liveable.

hey guys, any news on UK release date ?

cheers.

there are supposedly rumors flying about of a press release tomorrow regarding UK availability, they vaguely suggest that the carriers would be vodafone and t-mobile with the handset also being available at carphone warehouse stores....I guess we'll see in a few hours...

lol.
The videos great.
That bloke got $800, meaning a free iPhone & loads of accessories. Probably change to spare as well.
Fair play to him tbh.:).

Well, shock horror, it isn't perfect and bug free.

Apple make some nice products but they hype them up way too much. Five years ahead of the competition? I think not. :)
Does the iphone actually have some new tech - I just assumed it was just taking features already present for years and just adding the Apple UI polish - Apple are very rarely at the technology cutting edge for hardware so I cant see how this iPhone could be so 'advanced'...

The multi-touch is new for a phone and the UI is certainly slicker than anything seen before. Certainly the 700MB OS is new for a phone too! I can't wait for someone to crack one open and see how much ROM/RAM it's got and what processor it's running (I would assume a Texas Instruments OMAP 2430).

looks nice but will wait till its a lot lot cheaper.

also lmao at the woman trying to buy them all.

edit they seem to be going for $750 on ebay call it $800 for UK shipping £400 :S
