Is that 6 days with the extended battery? I have not heard of a smartphone that can last that long with the kind of usage you'd put it through,
I don't have the n95 btw, but i've used the N80 for the year and its sort of similar.

That was posted in January! straight after having heard about the iphone so obviously I was rather excited at the time, so its a little harsh to take that comment out of context.

However I will say, that apple make great products and have very few bugs ever (I am not an apple fanboy by the way). And it seems from the reviews I have read that it runs very well indeed. I am happy as this will force the major mobile phone manufacturers to get their arses in gear. Just look at the way the iphone works - it moves from menu to application effortlessly - unlike Windows mobile as an example or symbian S60 (however obviously far better than the sluggish WM). WM and Symbian will have to react and get their OS's perfect at launch like the iphone seems to have.

What a load of poppycock - on standby it will probably last 3 days I would have thought (but whats the point of leaving a phone untouched on standby anyway?) - my N95 goes for 2 days on average (with texting surfing etc). Yes its its biggest flaw, I wish it lasted longer but its liveable.

there are supposedly rumors flying about of a press release tomorrow regarding UK availability, they vaguely suggest that the carriers would be vodafone and t-mobile with the handset also being available at carphone warehouse stores....I guess we'll see in a few hours...

Does the iphone actually have some new tech - I just assumed it was just taking features already present for years and just adding the Apple UI polish - Apple are very rarely at the technology cutting edge for hardware so I cant see how this iPhone could be so 'advanced'...

The multi-touch is new for a phone and the UI is certainly slicker than anything seen before. Certainly the 700MB OS is new for a phone too! I can't wait for someone to crack one open and see how much ROM/RAM it's got and what processor it's running (I would assume a Texas Instruments OMAP 2430).

edit they seem to be going for $750 on ebay call it $800 for UK shipping £400 :S
