iRacing

Is the g27 he one to for then? Not too fussed about 360 tbf as the new one is out soon and i wont be buying one.
Just had a quick with the mx5 on laguna seca done a 2min ish lap lol, very hard with the 360 pad. I think the dead zone is well off wont drive in a straight line, i thought it would be like forza with all the aids off its not!

I'm hosting a session on Canadian Tire Motorsport park if anyone wants to join.

The cars are the Corvette, Lotus 79, Mclaren and Spec Racer Ford.

I just attempted a practice for an oval race on charlotte with a 'street stock' car.

I was on the limiter in 4th (top gear) and cars are flying past like im stopped?? Are they in different much faster cars or what??
Also i dont about 7 laps no issues and got disconnected, all it said was server being disconnected from us.

Should i be racing the mx5 at lime rock as a first race?

Thanks,
Sean

Oval and road are different styles so choose which one you prefer. Stock cars on Charlotte is the easiest track for them as its wide and open.

You probably have the stock set up, so when in game press ESC and next to options click Garage. You can then load one of the fixed setups that come with the game for Charlotte which adjusts the gear ratio.

If you are racing ovals in the rookie class, then the set up is fixed. I'd also recommend that you do a qualifying session before you race the ovals in rookie class, because they can get very messy. Most rookies don't qualify so by doing so you should start near the front. Either that or start from the pitlane and avoid all the usual carnage.

I finally managed to break 1min 50s at laguna sec and I also managed to get promoted to D License last night. Cant wait to get home and see what new tracks I can compete in :) any recommendations?

What times are you lot getting in the mx5 cup on lime rock?? Ive just done a few test laps with the 360 pad and best lap was 1:05.101 looking at youtube most are around the 1minute mark. Not to far of considering 360 pad and only having done about 10 laps total?

The customer service side of iRacing has shocked me. I have read online about how bad they are, but it beggars belief!

A relative bought some iRacing dollars for me. The first time they tried they received a transaction declined message. Assuming it was their card they tried a different card and it went through. I, however, received 2x $50 codes!

Not a problem I thought. I will use the code that went through OK and email support about the other one advising the website says declined but it charged anyway.

A week later after a couple of chaser emails (they take over 24 hours each time to respond!) I get a cut and paste (different font from the rest of their email) saying:

"Although this is not something we typically do, as a one time courtesy we have processed your refund"

Their website messes up and it's a one time courtesy which took them a while week to deal with as an auto reply?! Truly shocked.

I've never had problems with customer service on iRacing although I've only used them once. Which was when I was asking about a name change and they answered quite a few of my questions and then changed my name for me pretty swiftly.

Might be a different section handling refunds and such though.

If you can constantly lap at 1:01-1:02 min on a pad I'll be shocked but that's where you need to be. My pb is 58 flat and race pace is 1 min (approx figures as I'm on mobile so can't check).

lol the world record is a 58:3 and thats on the OTM from well over a year ago

the world record on the NTM is 58:8 something

hint: never blag about your times, everything is tracked and fully checkable by anyone :p

oh and its possible to be close to world record times in the mx5 with a joypad, someone won the grand touring cup division 1 a few seasons back using a 360 joypad.

I think I prefer real racing to sex, but the mrs is certainly cheaper... not that I'd tell her.

I've owned iRacing since the start and I just had my first mixed race, that was a hoot. I forced myself to plug the controller in because my account is on auto-renew... I've literally had 5 races this year. I wish I had more time for it I really do but life has it's priorities.
