iRacing

hehe thanks for the link :D will probably give it a go this evening :D gutted there's no audis :( used to love my RS4 in NFS:Shift with its insane body kit xD

is there like a group/clan/league/cult for OCUK in game?

oh also anyone using the thrustmaster Ferrari GT experience wheel? (got mine for project cars a year ago for £19.99 x .... saw it and thought... ah why not). just wondering if there are any configuration tips for it as some games can be fussy or assign bizzare things (like putting the wheel to lock doesn;t actually turn wheels to lock in game... :\)

This is probably not the type of game you are expecting. It is a ultra realistic Racing Sim and has no arcade theme to it at all.

That said, give it a go, can't beat it for $12 for 3 months trail.

hehe ay I'll give it a blast. not the biggest racing games fan but do enjoy the odd blast... I just find most racing games lose my attention span. I played NFS:S quite a bit and really enjoyed trying to actually get good circuit times xD

Same with project cars really :p my friend Hadz and myself tried a little 1-on-1 challenge with a car and track and see who could get the best times. that was fun XD more so i think because of the friendly competition.

played (and still own) NFS:hot pursuit and got suckered in by the ooo look a veyron cop car!!! lol xD didn't like this game as much ...though it was silly easy to do monstrous drifts for aggeeesssss. played some TDU2 too and that was pretty fun but got sick to death of the savegame corrupting and having to do alllllll the missions again..... pain in my ***!!!

will deffo give this a try.... see how it goes :D

Big important question now..... does this game have a racing line option? ;)

mmm, not sure you will like iRacing then as it takes a lot of time to get even good enough to stay on the track.

I have it set and showing in Rookie races / Qual / Time Trails and free practice.

Not sure what happens when you get out of rookies.

Only when you are testing by yourself.

ahh that's alright then :D few prac laps and shouldn't hit too many walls.... ;) suggest everyone wraps their cars in bubblewrap xD

cool thanks, I may very well not xD if at first you don't succeed... try for like an hourish and then play something else xD

Once i know a circuit a bit (like on project cars) then I can generally stay on track ;) that and getting used to the car xD I'm actually really wanting to try this more... think i'm building myself up to just uninstall it after a 1 lap attempt and accomplishing the 2nd bend then crashing.

repairs were mentioned? so total your car in a race and get DNF... do you then have to spend in-game money/points on fixing all vehicles? non-noob vehicles? no fixing? can you fix mid race in pit lanes?

After asking about the G27 Wheel adapter + the T500RS f1 wheel it seems that everyone says its a really tedious process and really isn't worth it considering how superior the T500RS is so now I think I'm going to look for the T500RS without pedals.

You are probably right, I wonder if anyone would want to buy the pedals? The clubsport wheel base is only around £60 more but then the actual wheel for is like around £150 as well.

Doubt anyone would buy the pedals. They are the weakest part of the package really and only a G25/27 owner would consider them an upgrade.

You've sort of gone down a Fantatec cul de sac now.

Club Sport wheel base and formula rim FTW.

also is there quite a list of cars? *fingers crossed for some Audis, hopefully A4 or the sorts xD)

Theres the VW PASSAT TDI so if you pretend that VW badge is an Audi badge you have a cheap A4 TDI :D The passat is a stock car, so will handle close to how the road car drives.:p

Ooo dont say they are the weakest part Llama :( placing my order on wednesday if they stay in stock till then, although im coming from a G25 so i should see a difference, can always add some CSP V2 at a later date.

At the end of the day the pedals are potentiometers, so that's the same as the G25/27 pedals. They are all medal construction and can be inverted, but for the money the wheel originally cost the pedals should have had a load cell on the brake. Once Thrustmaster release their official load cell then the pedals can be upgraded to what will be close to Club Sport standards.
