Can anyone recommend a decent private league for GT3? I got so fed up of the standard of driving a few months ago I stopped using iracing altogether. Decided to start up again for the new season and in my first race I'm wiped out by someone diving down the inside of about 3 cars on lap 2 then later after pitting nearing the end of the race there's a guy sat on the racing line going up the hill taking 2 of us out.

I'm by no means the quickest driver but I know how to race clean and have a little patience, I think a private league would at least eliminate the complete idiots

I'm racing in the BSR GT sprint Cup this year. There have been 2 rounds so far at Silverstone (although I missed the second due to iracing going down). So far there has been good close racing.

It runs every Tuesday night. Prac/quali start at 7:00pm and then those who qualify high enough (this all depends on how many grid slots there are at each track) go onto two 25 min races. The second race is a top 20 reverse grid of the first so makes for some very intersting racing. The races are also fully broadcast onto youtube which are always good fun to watch afterwards.

The forum is http://bsrtv.forumotion.co.uk/ and if you search leagues on iracing just request to join up.

On the back of that, their is also a Radical Racing GT3 league being ran in the UK&I forum, have a look in their for more info. Both BSR and Radical Racing run excellent leagues and provide an outstanding service to the community.

RE the Sprint Cup, I failed to qualify for the race by .1 of a sec, 54 car grid and I was 55th out of 62 qualifiers :(

Sooo close :(. I qualified 10th and ended up finishing 12th after a half spin. Not too confident about the next tracks, esp after Watkins as I don't really know them.

Do you have a team? Perhaps we should start an OcUK one!

I race for Movie-Go Racing, our main series is the BSRTC which started last night in the Kia's . We have a team in the GT as well but on Tuesday was late to my computer and I just got no practice at all, by time I got into the server qually had already started so only got 3 laps in. Baby bed time strikes again!

Nope the RUF C-Spec is truly crap. I really hope it's not like a real life 911, because if it is I can't believe more people aren't killed driving them.

You want to brake? Sure, but I'm going to throw you off the road for no reason at all.

Move the brake bias to around 49.7 - 51.1 makes it more stable, love the C spec, 3rd in Division and 10th overall so far, hoping to keep it up for the next 11 weeks.

Same for me mate, I have managed to get my time down to 1:16 at Watkins which for me is pretty good, still way off the fast guys but least I can keep it on the track now.

Dont suppose you fancy sharing your setup do you mate? :)

Sure i can share it, its one from the forums.
Top of this page is the setup im using, i only tweaked the BB a bit apart from that its the same one http://members.iracing.com/jforum/posts/list/25/3249748.page

Side note, first race of the day, started 3rd, by lap 2 in 1st and stayed there, low 1.13.xxx throughout the race apart from the last lap a back marker decided he would try and race me, but i had a 5sec gap to 2nd.

Tip for the S's, a little lift to get it into the apex of 3 is the best way of doing it, till the tyres are up to pressure and temps then you can do it flat out if you get the entry correct, on low fuel it likes to drift towards the armco, the smallest lift possible will stop it - Turn 5 the long sweeping right, try and keep as close as you can to the curb around it, about half way you should find the spot it grips up and full throttle out of the corner in 4th gear.

Personally i use 51.1 BB, suits my driving style a lot better than 49.7 everyone else uses, just means i brake a little earlier and seem to be on the brakes a bit longer but still quite quick. my best was in a race, on low fuel 1:13.084

Cheers for the tips mate, I always struggle with the braking for the little right and left before the long sweeping right. Im sure that is where I lose most of my time tbh, If I brake too late I just spin and too early I lose too much time :(

I need to watch a few of the faster guys on these corners to get it right!

Exactly the same as me. I have no idea how some people can carry so much speed into the corner yet get it stopped in time.

Yeah, I always make sure I am braking in a straight line and dont drop down gears too early but I still seems so unstable

I watched a guy on youtube and he braked so much later than me and kept so tight to the corners it was unreal, no idea how he did it but he did so I must practice more :D

I watch some replays and if they have the pedal input showing, the fast guys appear to use 100% braking for a split second and then it trails off.

If I try that I just lock up, so I assume they are using a load cell brake of some sorts.

It just baffles me what they seem to be able to get the car to do. When I try and replicate iy, I can't get close to the speed, the line or brake distance they do.

I've got a load cell and I can't do this either. Unfortunately I can't blame the equipment so it must be my lack of talent :D

Hmm odd....before the last race i was 3rd in division, after this last one which i led for 21 laps and won, moved me down to 4th, strange not sure i understand the scoring system, less races is more? currently done 9 and won 2...hmm.

Edit - the guy in 3rd didnt race in either of the last 2 splits, so it seems i lost points for winning hmm.

Oh bugger, didnt notice that, SOF in the last one was 1985, yesterday they were in the 2k's - oops that explains that, forgot that SOF is linked to points, oh well my IR is upto 2896, so i think this is how it will go for a bit. Cheers Spils.

I think we need to have some more hosted races again!!! :D

nice bank holiday weekend so be a shame not to have a cheeky race ;)

(I don't mind paying/host... all of what...$2 xD )

I've changed my mind about the C spec after a few more hours practice. I now right foot brake and it works pretty well, also played around with brake bias and added more wing. Still have to concentrate though
