iRacing

Well done on your first win in the radical man :). I havent had a win at all yet :(.

Does anyone have the iHud app for iRacing? It looks pretty cool and is £2.49

Congrats :)

Looks a lot closer than my 'lucky' win :p

I've won a fair few times but those last few laps never change, worse in your case where you couldn't really let up, when I won I had the gap that at least for the last lap I was way off the pace just to make sure...

Andy Pandy, what does the iHud app do (I'm assuming it's an iOS app based on that name?) iSpeed does give a web-server based system for viewing some stuff on a phone/tablet, and is free iirc...

It is an app for iOS and it tells you a load of things such as Oil temperature, Water temperature, Lap times, Fuel, where the car behind is etc. I havent heard of iSpeed so I will go and look into that now.

Just seen a few vids of iSpeed. It deffinitely looks good for something that is free, but iHud just seems a bit better. I have £2.79 left on my Itunes Store credit so Im very tempted to try it :p

how do they determin the divisions at the start of season???

Mark, I just joined this weekend, so by no means any expert. I am doing the Mazda Cup on Lime Rock park and really enjoying it - and you don't need to buy anything.

Did a lot practice runs to get to know the track. Tonight I have done my 4th race and my first clean one where I did 20 laps and came 5th!

It is a really nice track and not so difficult to learn.

cheers mate, i loved the race the lad behind me never let up either he was faster in sector 1 we was even in 2 but i was faster in 3, was a great race...

need a decent set for zandvoort im struggling ATM...

bet you won't be saying that after you had a few laps mate, the only way round it to slide/drift, it's very hard...

bars been set at 1.32.xx

im in the low 35s and struggling...

Been feeling like **** all day but gave it a quick go just now, only managed a couple of clean laps, both 35's, best being a 35.2, way off the pace but no real drifting so far.

Gonna be a tricky week though, still a fun track, whether it'll still be fun when I'm going a bit quicker is the question :p

Is there a trial or demo for this?

Closest you'll get really is the '3 for 1' offer that started this thread, think it's either $9 or $12 (eg 1 month) but you actually get a full 3 months sub. By which time you'll be hooked and already spent way more than that on content, or you won't and you've lost a trivial amount of money :)

In other news, just did a bit more practice, as I clearly can't concentrate for long runs I took out the fuel I'd added before (Robert Hope's setup, 12.1 gallons) and had a quick play. Car is much more balanced without all that ballast, and now down to a 34.094, probably about a second off where I'd like to be but not bad within the first ~20 total laps whilst ill and unable to concentrate :p

ive not been on much today, but going to give it a blast now.

still struggling TBH i found roberts set up to have 2 much under steer so im using stuart whiteheads but its very slidy, just cant find the balance i want on this track...

strange you saying your not sliding/drifting tho that was the main vibe in the radical school server...

There is some sliding but I wouldn't say it's excessive, I was doing about the same level of sliding at Watkins and Mosport on some corners really.

Although I can see how some time can be gained by more sliding a bit more through some corners so it may end up that I'm doing too much of it, but not yet.

think im going to have to admit defeat, 1.35 flat is all i got on this track and no consistency, so dont think ill be racing this weekend...

Might be worth trying the Robert Hope setup, I guess it is a bit understeery but it's got some pace there (should able to do 33's easily enough once I've got a few more laps under my belt), and sounds like it's easier to drive than Stuart's...

I like the track quite a lot, and feeling better today so hopefully some more laps before lots of racing tomorrow :)

I did have a good few laps with Roberts set last night, it is a lot more stable but defo under steers I find it hard to get a good turn in.

I just haven't got the pace round zandvoort mate, I don't even know were I'm loosing time as I'm on the racing line, must be braking too early a lot, I know I'm loosing time in the corner before the carousel type corner as I always mess the carousel up but other than that I'm stuck, just lap after lap of 1.35s tho that seem to be kind of competitive with the lower guys as all the practice sessions I've been in there's been a lot of drivers in the 35s and 36s.

so if there a couple of splits in 1 of the races I might have some chance of a good finish, but then I'm not very co consistent...

So, just did my first race of the weekend and damn it was hard work :p

Only 9 people, but rate of attrition was bad, only 3 people finished on the lead lap :o

I started 4th and stayed there initially, following a guy but not really pushing to overtake (he was a bit slower, although almost all of the pace difference was in the first and second corners) eventually got a good run at him and got past but then people started dropping like flies, first 2nd place disappeared, then the guy behind disconnected, then the guy behind him spun. Then it was 'just' 18 minutes of trying not to make a mistake, was the hardest bit of the race :p

But did it, finished 2nd, only 2 incidents (both silly off-tracks), and now time to relax :p

Oh yeah, for what it's worth, I was averaging 35's, all I really feel comfortable doing tbh (did do a 33.8 last night though \o/)

well done for the race mate..

tho i think a lot are struggling with it, i went to join the 5.30pm race this afternoon and only 1 person signed up, so dont think zandvoort is working well for most peeps with the NTM...

in practice i filled up the fuel and tried to do as may laps as i could be bothered to and i can keep it on the track better but still lapping in the 35's, should be competitive going by what you just said and from the practice sessions...
