iRacing

As default in slack there is a general channel and random channel.

Thinking perhaps we can use slack to organise both adhoc and scheduled races, like the endurance ones. Any thoughts gents?

Also if anyone wants to volunteer to be a slack space admin let me know - a few would be good in case someone is on vacation etc.

Sent you a trust

Sent you a trust. Anyone else with ideas on team name or are we going with 'Zeros in Disguise'?

I can set the team up if so :)

Not fussed on the name, seems ok to me.

I'm in it now. I've had a quick go with the AMG I do like it, feels much more responsive than the McLaren (although that could be down the base set ups). We don't have to choose the name right now, Zeros in Disguise is current front runner.

Might be worth running two teams if we end up with a lot of people

With lots of drivers you aren't going to get long stints and it depends how many pit stops you need to do. I think the last BES race I did was at Zolder and I'm pretty sure we only pitted twice

Down for maintenance, and I just tried out the radical on the test server, what a great wee car that is! Basleline setup and it was a joy to drive around Brands.

Yeah that's a good idea but we have so see if we can get enough for one team regularly first. But as you can be in more than one team we can set that up if/when it's needed. The BES races have fair share rules, which I'm confused by but I don't think we want to be running more than four for a that race though.

Have a team of 7, I am sure that we would all not probably be available all the time to share the drive, and if we do can we not enter two cars?

I think it's one per team, not entirely sure though, but drivers can join up to 5 teams so we make Zeros in Disguise Car 2 or something. I can't do Saturdays for the next 6 weeks and also on holiday soon so I doubt we will ever have all 7 of us available.

I think most of the races will only need 2 pits stops, assuming running from full tanks down to a bear minimum. So we will only need 3 drivers per race most of the time.

Would I also be right in saying that there's only SR gain or loss and iRating is unaffected?

Yes I think that's right. We need to do some testing to see how long a tank lasts/what is the fastest strategy etc.
