I don't mind, I hadn't purchased any extras so I wouldn't be out of pocket. I didn't see it saying anything about new subs though. I'l double check.

Yeah, apparently new accounts only.

I opened a new account a few months back and got out of rookies in 4 races. The biggest problem after that is finding regular races that don't involve buying extra cars or tracks. Or sticking with racing in the Mazda Cup.

I ended up going back to my old account.

If you haven't purchased any content on your old account then it's still worth it, have fun getting out the rookies again though. :p

I recon on a new account and obviously you'd need to be a driver with a decent SR rating, but I think rookie could easily be done within one evening once you have done rookie and gone onto some of the higher licences cars and series you gain the dark art of race craft and a spider sense to accidents. You should be able to avoid my accidents in rookie(spider sense will tell you anyone from Brazil will be a dive bomb hero from 50 meters back so just let them by asap, anyone from Spain will do the same, the yanks think its nascar so avoid them or your end up with a black flag pretty fast and normally a mouthful of abuse over the mic, Most Scandinavians will be 1-2 seconds a lap faster then the field so no worrying about them... If its a white car, get ready to spontaneously combust. Nothing worse in Iracing than a Spanish guy in a white car :D).

4 - 6 races with the no fault bonus and you should be out of there.

They no longer run insimracing cup( or something along those lines ) ? that in the top split most evening with the euro guys was great fun and mainly some intense and clean raceing towards the front of the grid. Even the guys at the back was mostly no aggressive and quite friendly.

Had a couple of races last night - didn't go as well as I hoped it would but I'm definitely faster and more consistent around lime rock than I was on my last sub.

See if I can get round tonight without incidents.

Managed to put in a low 59s on Lime Rock full in the MX-5 Global cup, I'm getting faster.

Did much better last night, Q'd in 2nd for my 2nd race but let the pressure get to me and spun out. managed to finish the race in 5th in the number 5 car though.

Enjoying it much more this time around.

Just tried the new UI and it's pretty good, a lot easier to navigate and faster.

You can try it out by double clicking the iRacingSimDX11 icon in Program Files(x86) iRacing folder.

A poor week for me. I did two Skippy races and got hit in both races. First race it was into the hairpin at Phillip Island on lap one. Fortunately no damage I was forced to put for. But two laps from the end my PC decided I needed to know about a driver update, which made my screen go blank for a few seconds and my wheel to cut out. Probably something to do with Nvidia overlay.

Second race I got hit on main straight by someone that couldn't hold their car in a straight line. Spun me off and I get a meatball flag.

I also did one race in GT3, where three different drivers managed to hit me. One on the formation lap, straight in to the back off me. Then someone out brakes themselves in the final chicane and rejoined while I was going through it, rather than rejoin the track on the straight they thought mid corner would be better. That stranded me in the wall of champion and the next guy through ploughed in to me for good measure. Didn't get a meatball somehow but was basically last.

I sometimes wonder why I bother racing at certain tracks when I know they are accident magnets.

I had a week off as I don't own Sonoma for IMSA and don't particularly want to buy it. Just did a bit of practice for coming weeks. It sucks when you have one of those weeks where it seems you are getting hit every race. Last time it happened to me I had to take some time off in the end as it was just getting me so wound up. I've been really lucky so far this year, last season I was only hit once and the person was very apologetic about it. Different series seem to be better than others however and I've noticed as my irating has climbed and I've got into higher splits the racing tends to be a bit better.

I didn't fancy Sonoma either, even less so after a few practice sessions.

It can be track specific some weeks, so really I should just avoid racing those tracks I know end in tears.

I don't normal race at Canada because I'm so slow around there, plus the narrow track and walls make it too easy to bin it by yourself or get caught up in someone else doing the same.

Next week's GT3 is at Lime Rock, which is just plain stupid if you ask me.

There's an extra chicane in the layout when they race there for real. Even so, it's not like the USA is short if road courses to run at. I can only assume it's a popular track or is in a well populated area. I know Road America is more or less I the middle of nowhere.
