I've generally found I'm slightly faster in the MP4 than the RUF but I just basically struggle to keep the MP4 on the track, I've actually been qualifying in the MP4 and racing the RUF. The BOP isn't perfect but there's no doubt it will get better. The MP4 has a ton of downforce, it just snaps over kerbs and is quite unpredictable sometimes. I have won races in top splits in the MP4 so it's nowhere near as slow as you think.

Saying the RUF is a made up car is daft, it's an exact replica of the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR down to the finest detail (except the dashboard), and it is obviously a way to get round licensing but if it lets me have a 911 then I'm happy with it. The RUF C-spec (IE Carrera cup car) has it's own series anyway so putting the GT3 into it's own series would just dilute it even further.

Bloody maintenance is killing me right now arrghh lol ive been bitten by the RUF bug big time, i need my daily RUF fix while the other half aint home lol saves me from the ear bashing ill get later for staying up late racing lol.

I don't have a problem driving the MP4 I'm a decent driver in it I entered a few Uk and Ireland league races with it and did pretty well in the few races I entered.

But I find I can do times in the RUF that = roughly my pb's in the MP4. Without even trying. To get that PB time in the MP4 i'm having to drive the car to its limit.
Did loads of offline testing when I first got the RUF was really interested in running the GT3 with the MP4 I do really like the car. But running 30-45 minutes I was just so much faster and confidant in the RUF. Racing it instead of the RUF would put me at a disadvantage.

O and if its copy of the 911 GT3 to the T. Why did the car have the wrong kinda transmission when launched ? Its all purley based on guess work or so I have read. They can make it to size and weight, power add in tire size data etc etc. But as far as I'm aware the RUF road car they scanned as never raced at GT3 there version is something like 700bhp so its all guess work. The car as had no input from Porsche.

Where as the MP4 was built with real data from Mclearn. If I'm wrong then fair enough you learn something new with I-racing every single day.

Well that was a pretty horrific skippy race.

First lap corner at the top of the hill so T2/3 I think and it's just mayhem. Person in front of me went into the corner slowly, so I let off as I come up behind him to avoid rear ending him and I then got rear ended. I spin off and stop next to the track, where someone then t boned me at full speed trying to avoid a 5 car pileup that had happened a few cars back.

Go round doing a few laps, odd mistake here and there but generally battling it out with another driver. That was some good racing, I was faster than him in sections, he was faster in others so we changed positions a couple of times and generally pushing each other. Then final lap he started to slide on a corner, I then spun avoiding him and hit 17x so got disqualified :(

Not that it would have finished my position, we were battling at the back of the race.

Just raced the Skippy around Spa, I remember why I loved this car. Close clean racing from lap 1 all the way to the final corner. Was trying to overtake 3rd place for the last 4 laps or so, went side by side down the straight but he held on every lap.

Final lap and we go side by side around Blanchimont into the chicane and then cross the line side by side, think I won by a tenth as I got the better exit out of the chicane but fantastic driving :)

Practice at lime rock. Check
Enter race at lime rock. Loading Error 72

FAQs suggest this means the track is corrupt, so followed instructions to reinstall track. Still got loading error 72. Forfeit race and join practice session, loads fine.

Try this if you are still getting error 72

LOADING ERROR 72

Go to your installation folder (generally C:\Program Files\iRacing, or C:\Program Files (x86)\iRacing, on 64-bit Windows).
Go to the "tracks" directory.
Delete the "tracks.dat" and "version.txt" files.
Delete the directory for the track you were trying to use.
Refresh the web site and it will tell you that you have updates available.
Install the (now) missing track and the shared track data.

Already tried that and it didn't help. Did it on a second race as well, though a time trial was fine.

I'm hoping a restart will allow me to race again, have sent iracing an email to see what they reckon though.

Just did my first Lotus 79 race since I resubbed, forgot how intense racing this car is.

Fairly happy with my finish although not a huge field since the big races are on friday, saturday and sunday but still happy with my finish(and my massive SR gain :D)

Anybody drive the RUF C-spec? I'm usually a skippy driver but fancied a change, but I cannot get used to the car. I seem to spin going into corners.

Any tips?

not really gotten much chance to play this so far this week.

though I did watch Days of Thunder last night so I'm ready to become a legend behind the stock cars wheel xD

Cruises first few races reminds me of the rookie races xD "It's called rubbing, and rubbing is racing"

Also his accident "he was spinning out, you always aim right for them, he should have been out of the way" :p

Jumped on this today after not playing since last Saturday, knocked nearly 3 seconds off my laptime around Summit Point Raceway! :D
