iRacing

My iRating put me in the top split Skippy race last night where I started last but one with the lowest iRating. That meant I was 2 seconds off the pace of anyone in the top ten and it was only other drivers dropping out that gave me a finish of tenth and a small gain in iRating.

Had everyone finished as their iRating suggested then I would have lost iRating and I'd be in a lower split for the next race.

So the chances are my iRating now will fluctuate between 2000 and maybe 2300 if I have a couple of lucky races on the run. Because I can't see me finding much more in the way of pace in any series now.

Not that I'm bothered as long as I can have good races. The worst is when there's only a few guys around your own pace and they crash out. Then you end hot lapping on your own without a hope of catching anyone in front.

Yeah the top split can be either a great place to pick up a bit of pace by trying to hang on to the faster guys, but can also turn out a bit lonely...

I've been having a pretty good time at Okayama though, did a couple of races without qualifying, started back row for both and ended 4th (from 13th) in one and 10th (from 19th) in the second.

Then last night I bothered to qualify, went into it with a PB of 1:45.28x and set a 1:45.025 and then did a race earlier and improved again to a 1:44.796, pretty happy with that :D (that was without a draft, closest guy ahead was 2 seconds)

Just hope I can get in a full season this time, not gonna make next week as I'm away so that's on drop week...

Fastest I've managed is a 1:45.6 without a draft. My optimum is a 1:45.1 so I still have a bit of time to find.

I have to say that the races are good if there's at least a couple of cars you can stay with. One slight mistake and positions can change, but because of the relative slow speed of the car and it's open wheeled, means you can race very close together.

Just wanted to post this up on here. Been watching this mans videos for the last few days, and think most of his stuff is very good.
He has only just started to play iracing, and he is working his way up the his licenses.
But his racing and commentary are great

He is called Yorkie065

Did you apologize for ramming him at the end?

"They say you cut the course, you've got to let the WHOLE FIELD by to give up the nano second gained. Then take an 18 second stop go penalty for not doing it fast enough."

Might as well add a guaranteed drop in IR as well to the punishment, because there's no coming back from letting all the field by and taking an 18 second stop and go penalty.

The best of it is I was avoiding contact not trying to gain an advantage, on both occasions.

Almost as bad as some of the off track incidents you get for one wheel off on some curbs, yet others allow more than half the car off track.

I'd say it's worse than the off-tracks, at least those are fixed and even if you do go a bit off track it's only a 1x, doesn't really make a difference

But the course cutting makes no sense, you can see on F3 that you've not gained any time yet you're forced to give up several seconds or more, and like you say it's a fine line between getting it done and getting a silly stop/go, they should ditch it tbh

if i save a race replay how do i watch it at a later date?

just won my first race and i started from last wanted to watch it back. i can find the file but cant watch

cheers

cheers buddy found it..
