iRacing

just tried practice in the ruf round road atlanta short... think its safe to say i need some practice and a set up ran 59 flat with stock set up but i was all over the place...

Thanks for adding me guys.

I am looking to get regular racing going in my ORL thread for Assetto Corsa and thought I would ask here if any of you are looking for a UK based league for iRacing. I don't mind putting in the time to arrange everything if we get a good group together.

Looking at fixed set up racing to begin with, Mazda so that new iRacers can join straight away, plus its a fun car. 10 round championships with a race every week. The race night may vary slightly as I work shifts.

With Steam fast approaching, it would be great to get some foundations in place ready to get some new faces on board and enjoy some quality racing.

When I did this before for Gran Turismo, we had website, photo galleries, Youtube Channel, the whole works. If that sounds like your sort of thing and can commit to regular racing then drop me a message via iRacing so I kow who is who!

just taken part in an mx5 race with my brother who is a rookie and got to admit i really enjoyed it got a really good lobby close and top 7 were all pretty much dead heat. made it to 4th from 7th. not to bad considering the back of my car took a massive hit first corner, although it was a totally unavoidable hit

I have just done the past 3 races tonight also, was fun but frustrating as I was wiped out a couple of times too!

Regarding my post above, I have a thread over at the iRacing forum now to try and get a list of names together:

The thing to remember about rookie Mazda cup is not to treat is as a race but a learning curve for staying on the track and out of trouble. You're only really in it to get out of it and you can do that by starting from the pit lane or the back of the grid. Then just concentrate on lapping cleanly and within your limits.

In the vast majority of incidents you'll find that there's always something you could've done to avoid contact. A lot of the time that means letting overly aggressive drivers go by without a fight and let them take themselves out.

i quite enjoy driving the mazda fun little car... however as said above i want to get on with the ruf. going to run a load of laps today find a tune and sort wheel settings out...

i ran 10 or so practice laps and got 59 flat stock tune and wheel settings not right so a little tweeking i recon low 58's maybe 57's should be an easy target to reach

Very true, although the car is great fun. The amount of times I have given up places or dropped back to let some, shall we say, less caring drivers through. If it was not for them I might be fairing a little better with my rating by now.

Finally got my wheel setup after a OS reinstall and moving my desk around.

I have a T500RS with some clubsport pedals.

Would anyone mind sharing there settings (profiler and ingame) if they use the same wheel to give me a base to work from?

Thanks in advance.

2nd RUF Cup race and another win! Against a guy with over 3500 irating and I blitzed my team mate (3000 irating) by nearly 15 seconds by the end of the race!

Very close between me and second, he was on my case most of the race, by the end our average lap time was only different by 5/100's!

Spunkey, have you not been bumped upto Div 1 after your performance last year? I was surprised to see you still in Div2.

I don't change any settings on the wheels control panel at all. In iRacing I use default settings after going through the calibration wizard. Other than FFB set to linear.

The CSP I have on the brake set on lightest required force and in iRacing I change the brake pedal setting for force to zero as recommended.

It's generally advised to NOT use linear on Logitech or fanatec wheels nowadays. It used to be the opposite but in recent builds its changed.

Nope still Div2. I think the cut off was around 3450 iR. I was ~3200 before Bathurst but had a mare that week and dropped below 3k again. I'm only just back up to 3200 again now.

I'd prefer being Div2 anyway - at least I have a hope of winning it :)

Well I need to get back into this...I've been so busy with work :/

But my Clubsport base V2 has arrived!

Hopefully the iracing masses have got some settings for me.

The old base will be going on sale soon...

Sorry to hear that manering. What about it are you struggling with? This car is all about the brakes and getting the car stopped, then turned, then accelerating ie. the complete anti-thesis of a momentum car such as the MX5. You have to be consistent and smooth with all the inputs.

I've got a half decent setup for Road Atlanta short if you want it. It's got as much of the understeer dialled out as I can. In a race it's good for ~57.5s. The only real issue is it chews the front left a little, so you'll start to wash out in the high speed corners from lap ~20.

i think thats my prob im running stock set up. also been running mx5 to much and not doing anything more trying.

after watching a few clips from yt and twitch its given me the bug to try the cars out and get in to it...

any help with a set up would be great..
