Part of my excuses is that with a wheelstand I need to actually move it/get it setup, so clearly I need a proper rig setup, that'll fix it![]()
There was a few occasions during this weekend's Nurburgring 24 hour when I was seeing noticeable frame drops. Wasn't just me either, team mates were seeing the same so potential server issues?well this is interesting, since update have had werid performance issues, my fps was tanking even though had pretty much low across the board, so today disconnected my BT dongle for headset nd unparked all cores, now my performance has returned, im rock solid 130fps, my monitor is 100hz but gives me some space

I did two. Both ended prematurely with crashes.Mulling over whether to do the Indy 500 this evening, qualified top 50 so should be in split 2. My main worry is endless cautions and getting cramp in my right foot from having to feather the throttle in dirty air for 3 hours.
I did two. Both ended prematurely with crashes.
What was the trick with qualifying? There's definitely some knack to it, but nobody wants to share the technique.
Thanks. I saw the oil trick and tried that, but was still 3 / 10ths slower than the fastest I saw in my Q session. Some guy did a 38.5, which on that fixed set was v impressive.1. Before leaving pit stall rev the engine in neutral (with engine mode set to 8) at around 9000rpm until oil temp reaches about 200 degrees
2. When exiting pitlane do not go above 100mph and accelerate once you go past the cone, this trick is relevant to all oval cars on asphalt.
3. On straights reduce weight jacker to -20 to reduce drag and then return it to around +10ish on the corners. This is very tricky to do manually so people create macros using third party software which allow you to do instant adjustments to the weight jacker
That's a lovely set-upI Decided i wanted to get into Sim Racing, had this lot delivered on Friday and signed up to iRacing over the weekend. It's been a lot of fun and a steep learning curve. Still plodding along in the MX-5 at Oulton Park.
Mainly just concentrating on being smooth and keeping out of trouble.

I was thinking the same thinghell of a setup for a newbie into sim racing, most start down low, in case its not for them. well at least you cant blame the gear, its not as if u have non LC pedals and non DD wheelbase![]()

Just a lot of people do seem to get into sim racing and then quickly realise it's not for them, saying that if that does happen I hear MCFC_ANDY was looking for a simmagic setup

i found in beginning just changing my in game brake force down to say 75-85 kept me out of abs until i got muscle memory, haptics can help a lot on the brake, rest is a bit gimmicky imo, but a lot would disagree. i have stayed out of haptics atm, just seeing whats coming down the line.
been busy with work and had to delay my evo sport package until today my simsonn pro plus pedals ive had for an age, so be nice to compare them to the p700. i dont play enough to justify mid/high end gear. plus had such a bad run of late in gt3, i needed the break, im sure i got target painted on my gt3![]()
I agree with the other haptics though, not sure I see a point, my mate had one on the chair and I didn't even really notice it until he mentioned it! But the brake pedal haptic was really nice I felt.
i think most have tendency to overdrive, its just getting caught up in the moment, especially if/when getting taken out or taking yourself off. or its discipline as well, as driving mx5 etc as you said are very forgiving, gawd i love throwing around the mx5, but i just cant drive like that higher up power chain, ive learnt that the hard way
you learn to drive mx5 ff1600 then you have to relearn driving style next level, even the gr86 you cant overdrive hugely, but a lot more forgiving than say gt3 and higher

Basically kicking the rear end out under braking way before the apex and just holding a 4 wheel drift through the corner, every corner, every lap, no tyre wear or overheating to worry about, the very definition of overdriving... Today even the skippy/FF1600 (which are similar-ish) need to be driven so much smoother than it used to be.
