No, 60fps in Crysis is all we need right now. When a game comes out thats more hungry than Crysis then obviously we will need more power.
Im not really sure what this question is meant to ask, we will always need more power as time, and games, move on.

Well we dont have 60fps with 1680 + @ very high settings yet so bring on the next gen.
Not at 1900 x 1600 +res maxed out DX10 which is what I want.
So yes we need more graphics power... a lot more.
GX2 is Mid-Market to our needs?
Well looking at its performance in Crysis it would seem it is. But elsewhere in other games like CoD4 and UT3 its obvisouly top dog.

yes, not even that beast can run crysis at 1600x1050 on very high at what i consider a reasonable frame rate (50+)
I mean X2 is probably the realistic choice for most people and mine is nowhere near playable enough

Naw we're good. Everyone cease development. If you're not happy with HL2 in 5 years time you're just being ungratefull and greedy.
Am i missing something? We're only going to be happy when our games look and play like real life surely? So i'de be guessing we still have a fair few years of game and gpu development to go...

Dont worry when the 4870 X2 it will all be over.
I want to be able to play everything maxed at 1920*1200 with 4xAA/16xAF, the 8800GTX could do this on launch and for almost a year after, 9800GX2 can't even do that in current games.

i wouldn't go as far as 1920x1200 but the man speaks the truth
even the gx2 is not really amazing, but they are trying to feed us old tech for new problems for as long as they can, hopefully we see some real gains in the next gen as these cards are turning into behemoths
Most likely for your £400 to go as far now with current games as it did with the 8800GTX when it came out. In otherwords, a serious leap. Something everyone is hoping the 'true' next gen will provide.
