I actually had no idea that weeing discretely in public(layby/tree/bush etc facing away from ppl) was an offense

Why am the only animal that's not allowed to pee outside..
I've no issue with it, see it regularly if i'm out running along the old railway lines or any trails up to brecon etc.
Of course you should try to be as discreet as you can, find a Bush or tree, but if you're desperate to go, then go..
Doing the same out of laziness in a busy town or city centre is different though.

The councils' contractors litter when they don't bother to pick up the various roadwork signs and cones which we litter wombles find quite often. I found a roadwork sign last year which was dated 10 years before.
Why didn't he just laugh and drive off. It's just some contractor. Is he really going to bother looking up the reg later (if he remember it) and do all the paperwork to get a fine issued and actually have evidence to back it up? Probably not. The guy engaged with him and accepted the fine, so he then has all the aggro.
Also it's only indescent exposure if you harass or go looking for people. If you are already exposed and someone discovers you it isn't.

Probably has a bodycam
Friend is a delivery driver and he was saying how hard it can be even in the countryside to find somewhere quiet to have a quick wee. A lot of the hidden away spots are also favoured by flytippers so have CCTV signs up. Not surprising so many drivers have a pee bottle like on that undercover at Amazon show, although that isn't always an option as they put cameras inside the van. Pretty grim really.
I don't think these contractors have bodycams and even if he did he won't have seen anything inside the bushes.

I have a empty washing liquid bottle in car boot -Glad to say I have not used it but when working we had galvanised bowl with handle on to get water out of anywhere we was working but they got more use as a pee bowl.
Not been unkown to use a bucket in back of van for No2 but only out in sticks then dig a hole and bury it.

Man fumes as delivery driver urinates on his property
In a recent thread posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, Sammy Morris, shared RING doorbell footage of a female Amazon UK driver apparently pulling her trousers down to urinate.
I’ve been stuck (engine off stationary traffic) on a motorway and had to find a position that one could have a wee and not be exposed. I got a round of applause from a car of women in front.
Now couple that with the pop up loos in the town centre (reading) where you can wee with women standing around you..

Have some sympathy for people like dustmen (or refuse collectors!). One of them told me recently that they are having some nightmare situations because their depot is too far away to make a quick call, and the only public toilet in our area has been closed for the last few weeks, with little likelihood of it reopening in the future. Because of the nature of their work, they are not permitted to use householders facilities or those in coffee shops, supermarkets, etc.

YeaH THE PUBLIC TOILET SITUATION IN THE UK, OOPS CAPS... IS ****ing terrible. Honestly its gotts to be better in Mumbai or Delhi...
I had a visit to Helsinki and it was insane so many decent clean public bogs... in green easy to find structures. Baby changing facilities the lot....

Its awful how its actually got like this in the UK, in the town I grew up in we always had public toilets and even one of those futuristic coin operated type in the supermarket car park that apparently self cleaned. These days you have to hope that the next service station you pass has one...many of them don't.
I will never forget walking back to the train station after watching the fireworks in London on new year's Eve 2000. I thought it was a stream running down this alley, turns out it was all the people peeing! Was the first time I'd seen multiple women peeing on the street before, was a very grim sight!

I've done it in the countryside near me and I just kinda hide if a car passes by. If the police did come they'd see I was as discreet as possible. What you gonna do wet your pants all over your car? I think the police would understand if you were pleasent to them.
In Cornwall they've been selling them off for years (public loos), and the ones on the coast have been/are being snapped up and turned into Air Bnbs... (you wouldn't believe it until you'd seen it).
But yeah, there's no money in running public toilets so bring your own cup/hose when you visit.

Public toilets in many places in Europe are awful.
I needed the loo in Taormina, Sicily. Only could find one public loo in a small square, down about 15 steps. There was a toilet attendant reading a magazine heard me walking down the stairs and without looking at me “uno euro pro favore” with hand stretched out.
She hadn’t attended the toilet for about 2 years from the state of it.
If in a large city - I have discovered going into large hotels for loos. As usually there are some on the ground floor and a large sign of various facilities (gym, conference rooms) and toilets are listed. Plus the reception staff are on shifts - like the ones in your hotel. So no
idea if you are a guest or not. Plus loos are pretty clean and free!!
