Is it acceptable to let

You do realise the entire outside is full of germs. when was the last time you ate your dinner off your lawn?

Outside of OP house? Of course but a big difference between that and the germs left behind on his lawn from Dog mess.

PS you will also see others mentioning same thing about germs left behind etc!

Completely unacceptable. I don't even let my dog walk on somebody's lawn/drive when I'm walking him, let alone take a dump on their property.

Are people really arguing it's not acceptable because of germs? Some of you city folk really are clueless.

To be fair, there's some nasty stuff in dog poo. It can make you go blind, as in this story;
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-manchester-11012044

But, yeah, that's not really the reason it's wrong (at least, not when the owner has cleared it up). People just don't think that it's ok to have someone else's dog ******** on their lawn. And it isn't really

The dogs nose should have been rubbed into the **** before picking it up, so as to teach it a lesson not to do it again. :) if I saw an owner let its dog crap on my lawn, whether he picked it up or not I'd be straight outside getting up in his grill about it. Disgusting

Not just germs just not acceptable in general on another guys lawn etc.

I can understand the latter point, that's perfectly reasonable, but if you're scared of the extra germs involved in your life because of the traces from your neighbour's dog taking a dump on your lawn then maybe going outside isn't for you.

Dude, calm down! If you read other comments (which i dont think you did) you will the same comments IE skids being left behind.. It is unacceptable to do it on another guys lawn especially when they have kids. Plus plain old respect!

Most people who have dogs let them do their business all over the garden and never give germs a second thought even if they have kids, people are just giving it large "because it's my grass and you can't come on it".

If you don't want dogs coming onto your grass build a fence but I think the guy should be given credit for picking it up, I'd much rather that than the people who let their dogs **** on the pavement or in parks and then just leave it.

I let my dog go for a crap in the back garden before i take her on a walk so she doesn't crap on the way to the park. I wouldn't let her crap on someones front garden. Sometimes she decides to have a crap on the bit in front of the front garden on the grass by pavement. I pick it up and always feel like people in the house are staring at me :D

Calm down? I also did read the thread, not sure why you're saying random stuff like that, very odd.

You yourself said it's not acceptable due to "germs being left behind." If trace germs from dog poo are scary for you (whether it's your kids or not) then you shouldn't go outside/let your kids go outside because there are far bigger dangers. You city folk...

The reason this is not acceptable is because it's not his lawn, claiming it's because of germs is a poor attempt to make the complaint more validated.

Really there's no reason to keep a dog as a pet unless it's a working dog.

People pay all that money to feed it etc, their house gets ruined and smells like dog and has fur everywhere, they're a nuisance to neighbours with barking, they're often dangerous.

If someone is lonely enough to need a dog that sits there wondering why it's trapped in a house most of the day, they should be forced to go out and socialise with actual humans.

You read the thread but happened to pick my comment only, very odd - although similar to others.

I did say that (although germs was not my whole argument), but as mentioned skids or parts of the poop could have been left behind, and if a child (see link above) for what ever reason puts their hand on that part of the lawn - on their lawn - you can see what could happen. This is why I said germs, and hopefully this further explanation will help you understand my personal view.

If you see someone doing that on your property (fair enough although he picked it up) you know full well he or others may be doing the same, and you can stop that with a fence etc as has been mentioned. You Country Folk...

No. Allowing your dog to do something on someone elses property is not acceptable. The simple answer is he let his dog onto your property...he didn't have to, he could have pulled the dog away...but he didnt

And what if it was a runny mess? how would he have cleared that up?

Not the dogs fault - boxing stance the owner

Yup. OPs lawn is full of poo. Fox poo, badger poo, bird poo, hedgehog poo, rabbit poo, bird poo, mouse poo, rat poo, worm poo. Double that with the urination, and thousands upon thousands of rotting bugs, insects and plant matter.

They get poo on the there hands? They already have poo on their hands, their own. If they have been playing on the lawn where all the above mentioned wildlife are pooing they probably have poo on their knees as well

Your OCD level of aversion to germs is your problem ;)
