Just noticed you have reduced i7 8700k by a massive £30! feeling a little out of pocket as it was only 12 days ago that I paid £428.99 for mine........

would be nice as a gesture of goodwill if overclockers uk would refund me the difference back too my card.

because I do feel its a little unfair and such a big amount and only 12 days ago.

If you think £30 is a big amount on a £428.99 purchase then maybe you should have looked at something cheaper.
These things happen with everything consumers purchase.
If the price went up overnight would it be fair if the retailer asked for the difference from you as a goodwill gesture?
You knew they price and agreed to it when you paid for it.

But the people to ask wouldn't be us, if it really bothers you ask OcUK in the customer service forum tbh :)

If you're in the 14 day window you can just return it and buy a new one at the lower price. If the price has gone up since then you missed your chance.

12 days is a bit longer than something like 48 hours. Where do you draw the line? Sorry OP but £30 isn't like you're out of pocket £100. Take it on the chin and move on.

Bet your the same guy that walks to the toilet and does a back door boogey when it's your round at the pub?

You pay a premium for buying early whilst stock is so scarce. I can understand if the price dropped between you ordering and dispatch, but 12 days later...Nah. £30 isn't a massive amount on a £400+ purchase either.

No, 12 days is too far gone. I agree with the others, if it was a day or so then maybe reasonable as a gesture of goodwill.

It would cost you at least £10 to return it properly insured, so thats a tenner less you'd get back. Then there's the downtime without a CPU, and if this chip you have is a decent overclocker then the new one may not be so good.

Oh and post these kinds of threads in the CS forum.

Same day i think is about is far as i would go (i.e you buy it and it goes down before its even dispatched) but after that its just the luck of the draw tbh.

8700K's value was fluctuating due to supply/demand etc. You paid what was fair value at the time otherwise you wouldn't have bought it and would maybe have waited. You've had two weeks use of it you wouldn't have had if you hadn't bought it.
I had the same with the 1950X, bought at £799 on the special offer then went lower some 3 or so weeks later by £70. I bought it at the time as I wanted it and it was fair value for me. If anything I would blame myself for not waiting, if I wanted a lower price. But me no care :D

My point is I could have got this from the UK biggest online retailer and they would have refunded me the 30.00 no questions asked, If it was over 20 + days I wouldn't ask but the fact its under 12 days I think its a fair shout... I could under UK law send it back and get a refund! But then that leaves OC with a second hand CPU to sell when on the other hand they could refund me some of the money back......

And they could, under UK law, charge you a fee because that 2nd hand cpu you have sent back is now worth less to them.

Try your luck but if you don't get anywhere just get over it.

Then go and shop at that retailer. You are making a lot of fuss over not a lot of money imo. Btw, if the cpu is not faulty then ocuk can charge a restocking fee, 20% I believe.

That retailer has stopped this policy. The only option is a return for a full refund and placing a new order.
