Is it ok to be proud to be white?

I can see what your saying. Though maybe you didnt achieve everything but if by your own actions you have contributed positively to a society then you should be able to take a 'little' credit for your part?
Seems a bit departed from 'white pride', given that we're a mixed society.

Can't see any reason to be proud to be of a white classification other than that finding paleness aesthetically pleasing, which is a personal preference and valid.

edit: does reduced pigmentation improve vitamin D production in low light conditions? I suppose that might be advantageous.

Yes, very much so. Around 10,000 years ago our direct ancestors were quite possibly black in skin colour. To produce such a marked change in so short an evolutionary time the advantage must be substantial.

I think the whole "white" colour aspect is abit of an Americanism. I was listening to a podcast a week ago, by an American, he was saying there is only really white people in the US. Every other white person we refer to them by their country of origin rather than race, English, Irish, German etc. We don't see the Germans or French as white people.

I suppose it's because white people face, on the whole, less adversity than other races do. For what it's worth, I think "I'm proud of being black" has to be interpreted in the context of how it's said and what's being said before and after.

Yeah, this. I can’t even imagine the **** people face for being black.

Regarding the topic, I find it really bizarre to be proud of something for which you had no input. You can be grateful that you won the birth lottery by being born in the top 10% of the world's wealth, but you have to do something in order to be proud.

Exactly, by all means by proud of things in your family history - but being proud of something which you had no input in and took no effort to achieve seems odd..

I know this might seem obvious to you but could you point out the racism in the post you linked to?
I think it was more a character witness type reference than a gotcha.

Knowing his love of Tommy Robinson should inform how you read his above post.
