I have a Honda CR-V which currently has the following tyre dimensions

225/60 R18

There are only a few different tyres in this specific size and the ones I'm after are out of stock everywhere at the moment. Is it possible to use a slightly different tyre dimension or is that a big no no?

Thanks

As long as you keep the same specification or better (ie speed rating etc.) then the only real issue is throwing the speedo out.

60 profile seems pretty hefty for an 18inch rim, is that standard for that car?

Edit, ahh the CRV is the 4x4 one, I was thinking of the CRX, lol! I would go with a 50 or 55 profile, 45 I think may feel a bit hard and crashy, especially for a car of that type.

Code:
Tyre code Diameter Circumference Difference
---------- -------- ------------- ----------
235/55 R18 716 mm 2249 mm -1.58 %
215/60 R18 715 mm 2246 mm -1.65 %
225/60 R18 727 mm 2284 mm 0 %
235/60 R18 739 mm 2322 mm 1.65 %
195/65 R18 711 mm 2234 mm -2.27 %
205/65 R18 724 mm 2275 mm -0.48 %
215/65 R18 737 mm 2315 mm 1.31 %
195/70 R18 730 mm 2293 mm 0.41 %
205/70 R18 744 mm 2337 mm 2.34 %

All possible sizes that will have a negligible difference to speedo accuracy.

Before changing tyre sizes its a good idea to phone your insurance company and check if they are ok with it. When I moved from runflats to non runflats on my car they said that was fine as long as I didn't change the size or rating of the tyre.
