That was gonna be my next question.

On a side note i am thinking of selling my pc and getting a macmini/macbook. Might just format my pc and use ubuntu only.

Not aure if this is allowed, if it aint i apologies and delete this. You guys could try a hacintosh on your pc? use googe to find the website about this. I did this on my pc and it ran better than XP did!!
 
I want the hardware mainly that Mac has, the software is a bonus but I would bother with any thing like that I doubt...

Just my opinion though :)

Hi EVH, well I spoke to Mac and they said it's £5.95 and that's just to cover the courier cost :D

That's the one.. I couldn't remember the UK price (it's $9.95 in the US)

If you're set on getting it from the place you mentioned then I can't see a problem, but I've always bought direct from Apple so I can't comment on that stores return/refund policy.

Any one know about convertx2dvd with Mac's though?

All I can see on the website is "Latest improvements, works on Vista"

EDIT: Also if I get Leopard from Apple and install it, won't applications (by default) will that give me? Being a Mac noob..

I think that you can use toast to encode divx etc to dvd and create menus etc.

You get all the iLife apps with leopard which includes lots of stuff, have a look on the website for more details.
 
Right guys I got a second hand Macbook today, the 1.86ghz version in white, nearly perfect condition for £250 off of a family friend :)

Means I get to try and use it and see if it's the right move before I go for the newest model I suppose, question is that it only has 512mb RAM can I put a 2gb RAM upgrade in that can be purchased from OcUK?

Just putting a fresh copy of Leopard on it as we speak then I'll have to do the updates??

OCUK's RAM should work fine, AFAIK.
