I am everywhere...
2000 years ago....
Jesus turned water into wine, made the blind see, crippled walked, walked on water, woke the dead and fed 5000 or so with 2 loaf of bread and some fishes. Those are just some of the miracles the bible claimed jesus performed.

2006 curent day

Some pastors, evangellist, apostle, reverend etc have manage to pull of these miracle just like Jesus. They claim to make barren women pregnant again and some other outrageuous claim like exorcising demons etc.

Back home, ive seen pastors claim to cure HIV/AIDS via the power of prayer (even though science says otherwise) and make people better off in life.

I am not much of a believer, but i always have at the back of my mind, there should be some sort of logical explanations to these miracles and science defying cures right. Anyway what im trying to say is this - We've seen/heard of miracles of all types but how come no pastor, faith healer or evangelist has attempt what im about to say -

Regrow a limb on an amputee!!.

Reverse a gangrene infection

(please feel free to add your suggestion)

If all these claims of miracles are anything to go by, how come it hasnt being put to test?...until then my belief remains firmly in atheism.

Im putting those two down as from what ive learnt, Humans dont do regrowing of limb as it is biologically impossible, and finally you cant reverse gangrene - it is irreversible and full of dead tissue - only solution is to amputate!

I will welcome Christains view on whoever believes in them kinda of miracle view. thanks.

Science and Law is my religion, miracles do happen, i don't deny that but it is just beyond our current understanding hence we call it miracles.

in that entire passage, not one provable miracle. everything can be explained in some way or another. i do not believe in miracles or faith healing. i do believe in chance and coincidence, though.

I would have thought that most rational believers view miracles (biblical, that is, rather than the type you might see in the papers) as being allegorical / metaphorical, as opposed to literal.

When true "miracles" do happen, they can also be reconciled by saying that <Insert deity of choice> gave man the tools to get on with it himself.

By their very nature, mracles cannot be explained by science/logic, so by the same reasoning you cannot 'disprove' them with science/logic.

imo its all a load of crap and does not justify a caps title, everything jesus did 2000 yrs ago can be done today by paul daniels.

its all stories been passed down through generations.. getting more controversial each time. word of mouth, that was finally written down by people that would have been out of their mind with alcohol.

a miracle isnt something where "god" intervenes and says "ok, you will live" or something like that.
its just a real streak of luck.. or hard work and extreme determination from people

How do you know Jesus didn't use trickery or sleight of hand?

I think believing in something can help you to get through problems and to give you hope of recovery. That may help people to recover in certain situations, but I don't think there are really miracles.

Yeah, when Jesus performed a miracle he did it with the HOLY AND RIGHTEOUS POWER OF GOD!

You sound like a believer (pardon me if you aint). Do you think miracles can regrow an amputated limp? (even though Jesus put back the ear of someone chopped off)

making limbs come back... no way.

somebody would have been high as a kite.. and then thinking he saw an arm grow back he told everyone, and word of mouth spread (like it does) and bam, the bible
