Is the s95b a buy now with price drops?

Was fine last night. Woke up this morning to an infinite boot loop with occasional green half of the screen :(

Gutted. Really struggling to adjust back to my old screen too. Going to have to wait to see what Samsung say I guess, but that could take weeks. All the similar repair posts online report the same happening again.

So I’m a bit stuck. They’ll tell AO.com it can be repaired and as such I won’t get a refund. So I’ll end up massively out of pocket and getting the G3 instead.

How long have you had it? I believe within first 30 days you can request a straight refund.

If it doesn't break again, then great :)

Personally wouldn't get another Samsung TV. The Tizen OS is awfully slow.

Generally though, it does the job and was an immediately noticeable upgrade from my old LG CX from a colour perspective.

Yeah, that’s a good point. Cheers mate, appreciate the post, very helpful.

They are sending out an engineer who I’ve requested for Friday, but they need to confirm. Could be anytime within the next couple of weeks I guess. Hopefully they can get it going again, then I have lots of time to test it!

Blimey been a member on here for donkeys without posting in years
Can be beyond a ball ache when a pride and joy tv goes kaput!still remember 3 years ago when my then 2 year old b7 developed horrible screen burn from playing loads of borderlands and it’s anti oled cartoon hud!
Hope the engineer turns up and sorts a fix for you Captain, you never know might take back off and squirt a little 3 in 1 oil in and be bobs your aunty

Well, part came in early and they had a cancellation, so they’re repairing it tomorrow. Fingers crossed. I wonder how long it’ll last this time. I’ll be putting some decent gaming time in the coming weeks.

It says a lot that I haven’t been able to game on my old TV.

So far so good with the repair, however, I was feeling the image to be a tad dim and it just wasn’t ‘popping’ for me whatever settings I tried. I read that firmware 14xx was a downgrade from release firmware and that the maxlux mod outlined below could fix this. Well last night I took the plunge and wow, what a difference to the picture, it really is impressive now.

That will likely have voided your warranty unfortunately if you accessed the service menu :(

From memory, it flags something in the software - if Samsung happen notice this, they may refuse a fix.

Yeah, it’s a risk, but most people haven’t had an issue with it and tbh if I’m not enjoying the tv without the change then the warranty is moot anyway.

The service guy who came last time didn’t even check.
