I can't see it escalating much further or there is little chance of turning back from full scale war and I can't see Iran, Syria or Lebanon willing to cross that line as it hasn't exactly worked out well in the past and the odds are even more against them gaining anything from it let alone winning this time.

Not trying to be pedantic but thought it was worth pointing out, the Golan Heights aren't actually in Israel, it's recognised Syrian territory that the Israel military has been occupying since the 70's.
So many things could be happening, but considering the Israeli's motives in the last decade (or more), I cannot ever trust them not to be the prime motivator for ongoing violence around them. Israel has to defend itself, but there is fine line between defense and causing someone to attack you.

I think after the North Korean situation has been sorted with the talks coming up and expected peace deal, there should be a focus on Israel and Iran relations, getting them two to sit down at a table and try to sort something out, that said, this whole JCPOA deal has totally thrown a spanner in the works.

Good luck with that - supposedly Israel has approx. 13x Jericho IIIs with 150kt warheads targetted on Tehran 24x7 currently.
That is the Israeli perspective - doesn't mean Iran won't respond resulting in further escalation.
