I've not seen anything so far that points definitely in any direction - there has been bumbling, lies, distortion from those on both sides with wild claims that can't possibly both be true - kind of like the Iran/Syria<>Israel claims from the other night where both sides are claiming they hit their targets with most of their missiles and countered most of the other side's missiles.
We've had repeatedly the claims that "it didn't happen because Assad is in such an assured position it isn't worth it" which really doesn't stand up to a proper scrutiny especially now we can see some of the pressure he is still under which the regime would have been well aware of at the time such as their resources being so spent by years of war they are having to make desperate attempts on all sides to get as much mileage from what they have as they can such as the land/property requisitions.
Pretty clear at this point isn't it. A terrorist group who have a vested interest in bringing in their backers fake a chemical attack to try and turn the tide. The US/UK/French backers are only too happy to oblige with 0 investigation.
I meant more so the we as in establishment/establishment propaganda.

As above really, when we rely on unreliable and terrorist sources for our Intel and the like and jump in to defend them (not done by direct action but is the default/inevitable result).
I think the issue is becoming more fraught. The more other nations interfere the worse it is becoming. Iran are now involved, Israel etc. Its setting up for a pretty risky future in that area of the world.
So not really pretty clear - Western agencies with a motive for jumping in with little incentive doesn't mean it was faked.
I mean I really don't know what went on - there are huge holes in the story from either side - maybe partly because some Syrian/Russian sources are biased to flat out deny anyhow anything that might look negative on them regardless of whether there is any truth to something or not which muddies the water.
If I had to speculate I find it far more likely that it was the work of a local commander rather than authorised at a higher level - possibly under pressure to make progress and/or smarting from loses taken a few days before when they were pushed back and decided to take extreme measures - watching the video from the forces involved in the subsequent push there is far too much double speak/deflection using inferences about far worse chemical agents as to why they wouldn't have used what is in terms of chemical warfare relatively benign stuff (baring in mind people still die horrific deaths and/or face incapacitation in rather nasty manner if directly exposed).

I ought to make a mockumentary making said claims. I'll get a moderately good looking lady to present it and then have her smear it over Facebook with the title "THE TRUTH, WAKE UP SHEEPLE". Then whatever I claim about myself must be true. Seems to be how it works.

I didn't need a memo to conclude that the chemical attack was fabricated (even if there was one) as I knew it was bogus the moment I saw the video. And if there was a chemical attack, I'm certainly not stupid and naïve (unlike some people on here, obviously) enough to believe it was Assad because the 'BBC' says so, or Macron - LOL.
