yet every time SAA defeats HTS or any other jihadist you defend them as if they were "rebels" who are defending civilians instead of what is actually happening which is civilians being used as shields by the jihadists.
It is total war aka hell out there, any kind of moral high ground, if there ever was any, has been long left behind by pretty much any side involved.
Suggest you read. The only people I've sided with are the innocent civilians being murdered.

I don't see Iraq, SAA, YPG or SDF using civilian shields unless I'm mistaken?
In asymmetric total war the use of human shields is not that unusual, not that I condone it. It only loosely reflects the nature of the entity make use of such and/or their level of desperation - a bigger indicator is how they treat civilians in day to day life under their control.
YPG/SDF have been accused of using human shields a number of times including recently around Afrin. There were rumours around 2012 of Syrian government forces using civilians to protect tanks amongst other instances as well but I'm not sure if that was ever proved - they've less need to do it currently anyhow even if they did.

yh but only the jihadist/Moderate rebels are locking people in cages as shields tho you to be honest, no one else does that.
I don't think them losing the war and losing support from the west justifies their actions, the sooner they surrender the better it will be for the civilians.

Ha, you wish. I don't see it as 'control' either. It's so painstainkingly obvious it's garbage they're not even trying to be convincing. I guess the masses are so weak-minded these days that they just don't have to be.
In 03 I didn't believe there was WMDs in Iraq, just an obvious pretext for war. My point is I wasn't smoking pot then so I'm not sure what kind of connection you're trying to make, other than a harebrained one, naturally.
