Israeli finally pushed their luck too far this time, Russians are going to finally give the Syrians the S-300 that they "brought" many years ago, but didn't deliver because the Isralies lobbied them to stop the transfer.

The other thing is this too which could be a even bigger step then the S-300's.

"The third measure announced by the Russian defense ministry is a blanket of electronic countermeasures over Syrian coastline, which would “suppress satellite navigation, onboard radar systems and communications of warplanes attacking targets on Syrian territory.”

That's also pretty huge.

That said, they said within 2 weeks, which could be "give us better lip service or in 2 weeks, the Syrians get this".

If they really wanted to give them the S-300's, they could fly some out in a few days, so within 2 weeks could be time flame for the jews to pay some diplomatic deal.

Why, so Syria can shoot down Russian planes with even greater efficiency? :D
The S-300s are more advanced, will be harder for Israel's planes to trick them into hitting the wrong target.

They might need to build them first, Russia only have ~230 of the things themselves lol.

If one of Israel's enemies is actually capable of fighting back, Israel will suddenly find some evidence of WMD and send their big stupid friend to do their dirty work instead.

Ah, they no longer in production, but they being replaced by the S-400.

Not sure where these S-300's are coming from, likely some reserve. Syria did place a purchase order back in 2012 but they was never delivered, it could be these they are delivering finally.

That said! It seems the first S-300's got delivered last night.

This is a Russian heavy transport plane.

I saw some photos of them in Syria, but I can't tell if they are legit or photostock from a other time, but there is people saying they going to deployed in the Russian AB with Russian crew but they be part of the Syrian AD.

Still early days yet, so hopefully more clear information will be made public!

That said, it shouldn't take too long for some new photos and sat images to show the new units deployed.

I seem to recall they produced some export models that were never sent can't remember if it was Cyprus or Greece or somewhere like that.

Refreshing and clearing cache didn't work. Guessing it has to do with the ad-blocker or Firefox settings, maybe. Thanks for the new link too.

Iran's Revolutionary Guard has said it launched ballistic missiles into eastern Syria, targeting fighters it blamed for a recent attack on a military parade in southwestern Iran.

"Our iron fist is prepared to deliver a decisive and crushing response to any wickedness and mischief of the enemies," the Guards said in a statement on Monday.

The attack took place at 2am local time and targeted the bases of "takfiri terrorists" backed by America and regional powers in eastern Syria, the statement said. Iranian officials often use the word "takfiri" to describe Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL, also known as ISIS) fighters.

Interesting move by Iran attacking the groups backed by the US

A takfiri is a Muslim who accuses another Muslim of apostasy. The accusation itself is called takfir, derived from the word kafir, and is described as when "one who is a Muslim is declared impure."

So yeah, isil are often referred to as takfiri, but it's a general term for anyone regarded as above. The link that they're referring to isil in particular and that they are therefore US backed is reaching at best.

Confirmed today that the two murdered Danish girls in Morocco were beheaded. There is a video of one of them being murdered and at least one of the four men are affiliated to ISIS.

I can see the headlines now: "Two women accidentally brutally cut off their heads while shaving".

Someone needs to tell ISIS that attacking women is wrong. I hope they were dressed appropriately otherwise its their own fault, they were asking for it

Ironically though this practice of saying other muslims aren't proper muslims is exactly what allows ISIS to justify killing fellow muslims in the first place.

The mind boggles as to why these women thought they would be safe in such a country travelling alone.
Morocco is quite a popular tourist destination, however, Islam.

I saw the video lurking around, its totally disgusting that these filth are allowed to live.

BBC article makes you laugh.

"The pair were found dead from knife wounds near a popular tourist spot on Monday.

One person had already been arrested on Monday, hours after the bodies of the two women were discovered with injuries to their necks."

Knife wounds and injuries to their necks? No they were beheaded, slowly and horrifically.
