ISIL, ISIS, Daesh discussion thread.

Apparently it looks likely that the UN will recognise Palestine this September, with Obama likely to support a French initiative.

I think with Iran getting nuclear power, the world has lost the plot in the middle east.

So now that we're doing everything that the terrorists have demanded in the past, the Islamic State should just pack up and go home right?

It's about time, for both of them. Unless you are a staunch Zionist there is nothing to be against.

Hopefully the war crimes by both sides in the West Bank and Gaza will now be recognised and prosecutions forthcoming.

I agree silly that the U.N even have to vote to recognize Palestine, as for Iran let them build nuclear power the CIA have already said they believe they are not pursing nuclear weapons. I wonder if the American government and actually govern itself on this matter or will it bow down to the AIPAC pressure and reverse its deal. The Zionists are already scream bloody murder.

So now that we're doing everything that the terrorists have demanded in the past, the Islamic State should just pack up and go home right?

Not really the Daesh hate Iran & hamas

Iran havent started a war in hundreds of years?

They are attacking isis too

seems like one of the countries that could be a good thing for the middle east and not complete nutters

Interesting read covers the formation of Isis as they are really part of the attack on Iran, can't war with Iran if their alies cover your flank so Syria and their Lebanese mates get hit first.

can't be bothered to read but isis formed in iraq they were the nutters that came to jihad the Americans

They then went to syria to help in the civil war as the "rebels" we were so keen to back you know the moderate muslims we kept hearing about the ones america decided to help arm.

then isis were posting pictures of their new gear....

Yup, formed from Sunni ex army officers and tribes the same tribes that backed the US and got arms and pay from the US and who always wanted a split from the Shia majority and their Iranian allies.

The article covers the planning and formation of Isis from iirc 2007 when they were only a concept of yank think tanks.

UK medical student recruited 16 students from his medical school:

A British medic recruited at least 16 fellow students from the UK to join the Islamic State group, a BBC investigation has found.
Mohammed Fakhri Al-Khabass, from Middlesbrough, was said by his university to have "played a major role" in persuading two groups of Britons to head to Syria this year.

Also:
Most of the British students at UMST were the children of British-Sudanese parents who are successful UK doctors.
They had sent their children to Khartoum to study medicine because they wanted them to reconnect with their African and Islamic roots, before returning to work as doctors in Britain.

I'm sure that's the reason... not that they perhaps failed to get into medical school in the UK so have taken a less competitive route to becoming a 'doctor'.

Two jihadis laughing their asses off in prison tonight as our Supreme Court rules that segregating them from the rest of the prison population because they kept attacking non-jihadi inmates violated their human rights. Beggars belief

From the article you linked:

BBC said:
The Supreme Court has unanimously found in the two men's favour on the domestic legislation governing segregation, but the men failed in their human rights challenge.

Basically the prison broke the rules on solitary confinement (cant be for any more than 72 hours unless authorised by the home secretary). Their claim that it broke their human rights was rejected.

Plot was lost about 9/11/2001 and then vanished down a multi-billion (trillion?) dollar rabbit hole for the last 14 years or so.

Daesh/ISIS was enabled by the Western-backed groups in Syria (well done there) and Libya is pretty much a failed state (well done again).

Western meddling in the great game plays a big part, but hey-ho, we should all be optimistic that tomorrow will be a better day right?
