There's probably a good chance each time we fill up a car it's funding terrorism of some form or another.

The manufacturers will say they don't buy oil from Isis but I'd bet they'd happily buy from someone who buys from someone who buys from Isis.

ISIS sells through middlemen anyhow, doubt it ends up here though - a good bit goes to people in regions more local to the middle east too poor to question where it comes from :S

EDIT: Actually not sure how true that is any more, with the quantity going out now they are probably connected to bigger markets.

You could be right. I'm not sure where we tend to get our oil from as I thought we weren't buying from Russia at the moment due to their invasion.

Apparantly the USA blew up 118 oil tankers in the early hours of this morning. I get the feeling my tank of petrol just increased in cost.

Where do you think the current crop have come from? 100,000+ civilians dead as result of the Iraq war....that's a lot of kids growing up having their friends and relatives killed because of our going to war on false pretences.

It's perfectly valid. The war would not have happened if the West hadn't invaded and deposed Saddam. Even ignoring the fact that the grounds for invasion were totally bunk.

Foreigners killing your citizens seems to whip people up into a much bigger frenzy. America has mass shootings all of the time and people just shrug their shoulders. Incidents like Benghazi just don't go away though.

Well we could just be facing a different crisis if it hadn't happened. However that it did and was complete bull i wonder if we actually arrested those in charge if it would make any difference to the hatred towards us.

I'm unsure if it's just that we invaded or that it was completely fabricated why.
 
What would happen if a member of the public saw a terrorist acting suspiciously and possibly getting ready to strike, if that person kills the terrorist, how does that work within the law? Surely not jail.

You'd have to be right for starters. Would be zero sympathy if you were wrong.

I imagine a civilian arrest would be appropriate. Inevitably fight ensues and then you end up killing them. Not sure if that can be classed as self defense, probably not as you instigated it by trying to arrest them. I imagine they might waive that if you did stop a terrorist attack though.

Regardless if you see someone pulling a gun or bomb from a bag jump them. Chances are you wont be around to face the consequences anyway. Don't know about you but I dont know if I could live with myself knowing I could have potentially saved many lives(saying that I've never been in such a situation so I imagine I would more likely have a mix of brown pants and stay frozen to the spot).

I don't think it's the reasoning that matters (although it surely doesn't help). If you're a kid whose family members/friends are dead as a result, your home country is in ruins because of a foreign invasion and some ISIS chap gives you a gun and says you can join their movement and get revenge....well....this is where we end up.

Interesting question...I would think if the guy was a direct threat to your life then self-defence would apply and you'd be OK. If not, I'm sure there would be home sec intervention and hasty legislation brought in if necessary.
