Really? So whatever happens those who just want to live or exist, who want no part of Hamas or it’s butchers, it’s just tough luck? I imagine that’s not too far removed from the type of thinking hammered into the animals that carried out those murders at the weekend.

Unless you can see evidence of Hamas holding guns on civilians heads this human shield excuse doesn't fly. So Hamas are thinking let the Israeli's kill 2 birds with 1 stone i.e. a Hamas fighter and civilian. It would be advantageous for civilians to live or what's the point of fighting for the land?
This human shield is a lie so they can bomb however they want.

Controls against food? No. I'm sure they wanted to inspect it, but stop it? No.
I don't think Israel was trying to starve the people of Gaza. Now that I think about it, all the videos I have seen of the people of Gaza over the past week do not look like malnourished, starving people.
It's time for the people of Russia/Belarus/North Korea/Hong Kong/Iran to just rise up and take back power... Yeah, it never happens, does it? Maybe it's not quite as simple as some people make it sound.

Now here is a radical solution...firstly, all those tunnels that Hamas has spent it's people's money which so far have been used to smuggle in weapons of war...they can open them up to their civilians to escape into Egypt...women, children and the mobile elderly. Egypt will probably stop them within a few hours but that would allow what, 10 a minute per tunnel for 2 hours. At just 5 tunnels, that is 6000 people. At 10 tunnels, 12000. Over 4 hours, 25000. A drop in the ocean sure but if done at night, 8-12 hours plus before discovery. Still, 25k - 72k. And at that point, with so many people blocking their access to closing the tunnels, potentially even more.
Secondly, and this would be a short term solution because the Israelis are coming in to destroy the tunnels and will likely start by smoking them out first, but hid them in the tunnels in the meantime.
This won't happen because it would mess with their logistics and end goal so their people will continue to die in a way that was not only thoroughly predictable but expected. Hamas wanted this. Every drop of Palestinian blood, like that of the people in Israel this weekend, is on Hamas' hands. Not Israel. Hamas want this. PIJ want this. Some of the Palestinians want this (certainly the minimum of 30% who would vote for Hamas are up for it). The others probably not so much. But ultimately, Israel did not want this.
Hamas wants the world to see how good they are at inflicting fear, pain and suffering on Jews (and the foreign workers such as the Thai and Filipinos) in Israel by broadcasting their horrendous acts all over social media. The reviled in it. Even the Nazis, vile as they were and with a much larger army and initially pretty ascendant in WW2, even the Nazis both during and after tried to hide their vile acts from the world. When Hamas decides they are proud of what they achieved, they need to be destroyed down to the last man. No take backs. No pleas for mercy. Just like ISIS, destroyed.
During WW2 the Allies - without even knowing about the Holocaust or many other atrocities committed by the Nazis, were unafraid in prosecuting the war in a way that hundreds of thousands of German civilians including men, women, children, the elderly, dogs, horses and chickens, who may or may not have supported the Nazis, were maimed, injured or killed. They dropped the atomic bomb - twice - in Japan in an effort to prevent greater loss of life amongst Japanese civilians and their soldiers.
Hamas shouldn't be able to claim protection under Geneva Conventions or Rules of law if they do not abide by them. They most certainly are guilty of crimes under the ICC (of which Palestine is a member). The entire Hamas leadership holed up in cozy hotels in Qatar should be rounded up and prosecuted for what they planned over the weekend. Should they make a deliberate choice to use their own civilian population, men and women and children as meat shields for their supposedly brave, fearless, indomitable fighting men, the blood is on their hands.
