Are you kidding me? The last time the Rangers fans were in Manchester all the shops ran out of spirits and I saw a lady fan pooing in the middle of a pedestrian street!
 
Police are a cause of these things, how do they think people will react when they run towards them dressed as paramilitary and armed with tear gas and batons?
 
Maybe the French are over reacting, but it's not as though we don't have a reputation for this thuggish behaviour.

Not only does it make us all look like ****s. It also puts of the normal fan from attending these types of tournaments. It's the real fans which always take the hit from idiotic behaviour.

If you think it was just Rangers fans involved in that nonsense then you are a looney.
 
Watching the reports of trouble in France. I was out there a few years ago for a champions league game, the police were an absolute disgrace. I watched a policeman hit a Chelsea fan on the head with the butt of his truncheon - completely unprovoked, the guy who was assaulted has his back to the police officer. They then kettled all of the fans and tried their hardest to provoke a response. The news reports are completely unbalanced.

Now I'm not defending the actions of the minority of fans, I'm just pointing out that I have seen first hand the actions of the French police at and around a football game. The police are supposed to adhere to a higher standard, I certainly didn't witness that

No, the police arent the cause. It's the small minority of idiots who cause the trouble that lead to the authorities clamping down on them in such a fashion. A fashion that imho is justified for dealing with troublemakers. Not all english football fans are idiots like those that go to seek trouble, (same for any nations/clubs fans). But it's the behaviour of that tiny minority that sullies the name and reputation of the rest.
 
When you're sat in a bar and have a petrol bomb and flares thrown at you by locals. Yeah you're going to react.
 
This all kicked off when the French started hitting a group supporters unprovoked. The police did absolutely nothing. When a group of English hooligans caught wind of this, they gave the French a pasting and the police deployed tear gas.

Now....said hooligans are treating the country as a toilet on the back of what they feel is injustice brought about by the police.

This could have been avoided but to portray the French as innocent is completely wrong. Marseille fans do have a reputation and I bet you won't get this mess for other games.
 
So by GD judgement standards if a few football fans are fighting, all football fans must be a threat to the public. ;)

I watched the live stream, there were just young lads singing and drinking, they weren't doing anything particularly bad. Typical French Police overreacting and the media out for a story. The lefties can't wait to jump on the band wagon and start hating on the white male working class though, typically. I can't wait to see The Guardians report.
 
Don't know why they're fighting with the Russian ultras, majority of them nowadays are martial arts trained it seems as they take the club vs club fights over there very seriously.

I would imagine without having seen any reports that the Russians will be the one's instigating the trouble as, like you said, they generally have a much more violent gang culture than we do
