They nead to be beaten down hard and fast by the french authorities, regardless of origin.

Why should anyone have to put up with a bunch of obnoxious drunken football fans?

Regardless of being provoked by locals or whoever for some supporters who be acting like this is such a disgrace. What an embarrassment. I thought we were past the bad old days of those England fans. And as for people blaming the police in these instances, I personally don't buy it. These fans are in a foreign country and should be abiding by their laws and customs. If the police aren't happy with their behaviour they need to change it or just walk away.

I literally sat and watched the live stream, they were just singing and drinking. If you don't want football fans singing and drinking in the street don't host a football tournament
 
England have always had a bad reputation for hooliganism, can't say the same for any of the other home nations.

If trouble starts I'd imagine genuine fans would distance themselves from the trouble. Those there simply to fight can get the end of a baton and a few bites from an Alsatian if you ask me.
 
Footy has been banned from being shown in bars and cafes except in special declared fan zones, Marseille is a city with many armed largely muslim criminal gangs, could get interesting.
 
Those fans that went over and got arrested must feel like right idiots.

They paid all that money for tickets/hotels/flights and before even a ball has been kicked they are arrested and miss the game.

I imagine that part of the cause of the violence is the (abuse of) alcohol. Over-consumption of alcohol causes people to lose their right minds.

Just ban football altogether, there's nothing good about it, from the bent fat cat owners and managers, to the over paid self important rapist players, and finally the "fans" who show their appreciation by causing a public nuisance to everyone around them.

The whole thing is an insult to modern society, and shouldn't be tolerated.
