So in effect history exists from the point you were born? That reads as just a touch egotistical although you may not mean it to be so.
What if you don't remember your team winning the cup final when you were 3? You were born at the time but since you don't remember it then does it count as a victory you can claim? If that counts then you've got to ask yourself why watching the cup final from 1973 doesn't also count, you've got exactly the same level of knowledge of both matches now by having watched them on video years after the event.

Why? Did you have any influence on the result? What makes for the distinction that your birth is of any importance in whether history 'counts' or not?
Does this approach to history only apply to football or do you extend it to all areas of history?
it'll be interesting to think how Chelsea cope with Abramovich gone, the debt Chelsea has is unbelievable. Chelsea could easily end up like Leeds if they are not careful. Spurs' books are very good and I'd rather see a club build on a solid financial base rather than through a Russian billionaire who fancies a new plaything.

Well we did but I guess it holds no significance as we were not alive at that time. WW1 and WW2 is also insignificant because we weren't alive to witness it.

I guess my only thing to fall back on is that internationally you never hear people arguing about who won this and who won that because we are all from the same country and support the same nation (predominantly)
Whereas with clubs there are non-stop debates and bickering about who is the better team.

It's not about significance, of course WW1/WW2 are significant.
Just as winning a cup in 1901 is significant but it doesn't mean you should be able to use is as an example of your superiority over another club and shove it in the face of a fan from an opposing team.
