Conformity my friend. But hey, whatever makes people happy - my tool comment doesn't seem to have been well recieved.JohnnyG said:w11tho has as much right to not be bothered by feek's departure & state his reasons why as others have to despair over it![]()

If every single post on the GD was about the news, or what book should i get etc, then i dont mean to sound daft, but how boring would it be really? People come to a forum to try and escape from possibly the bores of life and for abit of entertainment and to chat with others and enjoy themselfs.
I agree some people take it overboard, but tell them onces and they should be fine.

penski said:See; what I don't understand is the need for a melodramatic "The end has come, I must leave now...Make sure Little Timmy gets his medicine" type thread. I've seen it many times before on many forums and, as Spie has noted above, they invariably come back...sometimes in another guise.
If you're leaving, leave. No need to make a song and dance about it.

I can see why people would leave over the quality of posting. It's the same reason I don't even open certain newspapers or tune to certain TV channels - namely, the hassle and effort of getting to the occasional worthwhile nugget doesn't justify the stench of the time spent wading through the swamp.SideWinder said:I didn't know Feek, just read his posts. Shame he's going though, seems a lot of people care about him and obviously have strong ties with him. I fail to see why people would need to leave a forum entirely because of the quaility of posting but i get the impression there are other reasons also. /shrugs. Could always just post less instead of leave forever?
Some good words from the other thread I thought I should add incase anyone missed them. I agree totally.hendrix said:You just gotta learn to live with it really. All i've done for the last few months is press the BACK button when reading some of the bad stuff that gets posted. Every now and then you get a decent thread or something you can get involved in. We can't stop people from posting 'terrible' threads. But we can ignore it and move on to better quality ones. Its not hard to just ignore the crap and get on with it.

I wasn't - I'm currently basking in the delight of my previous posts.Davey_Pitch said:Don't be sarcastic with me either.

he might be a long-term member and have 'friends' on here, but it just seems like attention seeking to me, surely if he had 'real friends' on here that he wanted to tell he wouldnt be posting anymore, he would tell on msn/email/face or whatever other way they communicate? if a forum is the only way 'real friends' communicate then some people need to get a life....
