Italian Grand Prix 2010, Monza Circuit - Race 14/19

10 place penalty for each new engine.

Does this mean that they could take a new engine in Race 16 (say). Then start 10 places down on the grid.

Then use the same (1 race old) engine in Race 17 and not take the penalty?

In otherwords, does the engine (grid place) penalty only apply the first time the new engine is used or does the rule apply to every race which the engine is used?

So he's not a god of a driver then or he would have passed on track? :)

Pit stop pass = lame and relying on your team to do the work :/

Not it's not, it is because F1 cars cause so much turbulent air, if a faster driver is behind it is a struggle to overtake, especially if the car in front has free air.

That's why you see when the car in front goes to pit, you get the true pace of the car stuck behind.

MSc used to do a lot of his overtaking in the pits. MSc realised that this was the easiest method to overtake and understood this better than any other F1 driver. This didnt make MSc a bad driver...just the best.

No it made him reliant on Ferrari strategy and it only works if you have the faster car to begin with, the reason Schumacher did it all the time was that his Ferrari was as fast as the other cars even when carrying more fuel, so when everybody else had to pit for fuel he still had some left in the tank.

Nope. F1 doesnt work that way.

Don't get me wrong Button did extremely well today. This would rank as one of his best dry race drives ever as he held of Alonso for so many laps, making virtually no errors, while going very fast. The problem for Button was that it was Alonso behind him and not a lesser driver.

Yep a great pressure drive from Jenson, Mclaren dropped the ball tbh. I don't know how they thought they would be faster if they pitted first. Alonso was just stalking his prey.

Button lost out just because the pit stop was eight tenths slower - just pot luck really - neither Alonso or Button did much wrong all day, and were evenly matched.

Be interesting to see what damage there was to their cars after their first corner clash.

great drives by Alonso & Button, think it's a shame that Button lost it due to the slow pit, but it's good to see Ferrari take the win at this place.
