Italian Grand Prix 2010, Monza Circuit - Race 14/19

Haha, is chandhok being trained up to replace Jake? He's been commentating more than he's been driving :\

Can see the different rear wings the teams are trying out. Mclaren and Ferrari with much larger wings than you'd expect for Monza but using the F-Duct to get rid of the downforce compared to the other teams running the standard Monza thin wing.

Looking interesting for McLaren as Chandhok was just talking about.

More downforce
Brake later
Carry more speed through the corner
Put the power on earlier
Gain a lot time there that'll prevent you getting overtaken down the straights

Not seen that being tried before at Monza - it's always been minimum wings.

Or Davidson. I just don't get why they hold onto the plank that is Legard when they have much better (and knowledgable) options. McLaren seem to be taking a gamble and relying on Button and Hami not making mistakes this weekend.

Two racing drivers commentating wouldn't work. You need a commentator and an expert. Though I do think there are much better options than Legard.

Interesting results from first practice, wasn't expecting that.

That the McLarens are quick is no surprise, but I wasn't expecting Red Bull to be matching them pretty much exactly for pace or Ferrari to be sitting so far back. Still, first practice and all that.

Why do you need a commentator and an expert? It's not like Brundle can't commentate better than Legard anyway. The last two seasons have seen Brundle paired with a tool, and it just hasn't worked. I say try something different.

The 3-way commentary with Croft, Davidson and Chandhok works really well, so I think they should go with Croft, Davidson, Chandhok and Brundle all commentating together for the race. As silly as it sounds, it would actually be really good!

The Mercs were fast, ROS and MSC 2nd and 3rd fasted in the speed trap and 1-3, 3-4 and 2-6 and the three sectors. Shame the lap times were 5th and 10th though. Bumei's looking the fastest in a straight line, poor lap time though.
