Italian Grand Prix 2010, Monza Circuit - Race 14/19

Hamilton will continue to use the low doanfoce package and Button will be running the higher downforce package with the f-duct.

Iiiiinteresting.

Very! McLaren are looking very strong. A fast lap when it counts and a good chance of a 1-2 this weekend. Assuming the crash kid keeps out of the way.

Ooo.... interesting. I'm really looking forward to seeing how that plays out in the race.

definitely, its a fascinating experiment to see which might be better.
Although it is partially down to driving style as well. Button prefers the more planted feel of the high downforce, Hamilton prefers the more sliding setup of the low downforce.

and Webber has stopped.

Webber stopped again. Worrying for Red Bull.

Impressively quick from Rosberg, almost a second faster than Schumi!

Looks like a pretty straight fight between the McLarens and the Ferraris for pole.

Absolute stupid Sauber! Holding up Fernando on his last run.

I occasionally slip into the same type of bias myself, but Sauber and the other middling teams are also racing for points if not the Championship. Those points can be worth millions in funding from Formula One why the hell shouldn't they have the right to try and get the best from their cars. If Alonso or any other A-list driver wants a clear run they should find their own space on track. I'll add the caveat that it should be normal manners for drivers on in-laps to get out of the way of any driver on a flying lap.

We still don't know what the teams may be holding in reserve - thanks to fuel loads (though they were obviously relatively light, but not on the lowest possible fuel at the end of fp3) and engine maps.

Should be an interesting battle in quali - but it still seems that the McLarens (button in particular) doesn't gain as much from going onto the soft tyre as the others, which bodes well for the race, if not quali.

I think this should be one of the closest qualifying sessions in a while.

I can't help but feel that RBR, will step it up in Q3 (as per usual).

Once again some people are assuming that RBR will not be on pole, even though they have a near 100% record in claiming pole this year.

I don't understand how anybody can bet against RBR.

One statistic of note was that the winner from this race normally comes from the front row. It is very rare to win, if you don't qualify on the front row. Qualifying, therefore, is VERY important.
