Yeah, I was thinking that? How often has someone not in the best car, or one of the best if its a close season, won the title?

F1 is usually 80% car, 20% driver, but Alonso is making me reconsider that this year.

I think that's a bit narrow minded. You don't (generally) just luck into a good car. Good teams produce good cars and good teams employ good drivers. While the car may be just that years model, the efforts of the driver come from much earlier on. Its far more like 50/50. A great car won't carry an average driver.

I don't think the Ferrari is really THAT far behind the other cars this season, more that with everything as close as it is, the cars behind it are a lot closer than they normally would be.
Are you forgetting the start of the season when Ferrari were about 1s/lap slower than the McLaren? When Alonso was struggling to make Q3 and Massa was struggling to make Q2?
The first few races isn't the same as the entire season to date.
I think the Ferrari is up front now. Monza showed the speed and if Alonso hadn't had a problem and had stuck it in pole come race day the McLarens wouldn't have seen which way he went.
I imagine the others are worried. He built a large lead when the car was poor, god knows what he will do now its fast.
True, but they definitely aren't the couple of seconds off the pace that they were.
Vettel is currently beating both McLaren drivers in the WDC, in a slower car. How does anybody expect either Hamilton or Button to beat Vettel in a slower car?
*Looks at WDC table*
It's bloody crazy how Kimi is in 3rd in the table with that Lotus. He's really getting everything he can out of it. Give the man a win already.
