Italian Grand Prix 2014, Monza - Race 13/19

He changed from a likeable guy to one full of arrogance with the finger waving, many controversial incidents with Webber and his team always favouring him in these incidents.
The finger wave was just his celebration. People only took offence to that because they chose to and wasn't the Webber incident a repeat of a similar thing that happened in reverse a few years earlier?

Oh, and one more thing.

Wasn't it nice to see a proper trophy? Not a crappy corporate logo.

Yes it was.

Love smr getting 'agitated' think this alone makes me want button to fail lol

Have to admit I thought today was gonna be a boring race but wasn't
LH or DR for driver of the day.. Hamilton had a problem but not sure why DR dropped back

Further evidence LH is a better racer than Rosberg
Rosberg really doesn't have the appeal or DR or LH. He's not exciting, he isn't really a personality.. He's just.. Forgettable. Even Maldonado has a reputation!

Massa needed this result solid drive and quali

Vettel got shafted by tyres so not entirely to blame.. Unless he made the decision

Ricciardo is 3rd in the wdc. You would be clinically insane to leave for mclaren and an unknown quantity with the honda engine... whos to say also that rbr wont close the gap to merc next year?

lol, Hamilton.. along the lines of "I locked up but I decided I was still going to make the corner".

Seriously Hamilton's lock up was way longer than Rosberg's and more tires, he was deeper and had a worse angle and still made the corner. That Rosberg made a tiny tiny error and bailed out so quickly was pathetic, I really do think he deserved a penalty. He just chose, literally chose to not follow the track, not sure why that isn't a penalty.

When you make a mistake and are past the corner that is fine, you take a run off or cut a corner. But when you can easily still make the corner and choose not to I think that should be an instant penalty.

Anyone think if DR was in the Merc he would be champion this year? I cannot believe how good he is this year.

Depends how he handles the pressure. Frentzen was a brilliant driver, jumped into the top team and couldn't hack it mentally. He went to an inferior Jordan and nearly won the championship.

Ricciardo is in the Jordan at the moment, with little expectation and no pressure, and is clearly over-brimming with confidence at the moment. But last year he wasn't stomping all over Vergne, and wasn't even all-dominant against his team-mates in his half-season at HRT - he bettered Liuzzi, but he wasn't on another planet, and was even beaten by Karthikeyan.

I think Lewis was trying his hardest not to laugh when he was asked if he cheered when Nico missed the corner and he took the lead. No, you don't have time to do anything..... hmm, I'm thinking be did maybe let out a little chuckle

This is the last year of F1 as we know it. In 2015 eight teams will contest the championship, with several teams entering three cars.

Hmmmmm......

Because cutting the corner cost more time.

Well, that is debatable, but so what, there is a track. You can get a penalty for going 4 wheels off the track down a straight. There is a track, choosing to go off it for no reason is to me, unacceptable.

As for if it's faster, again run off vs clean corner... slower, when you've made a mistake and gone deep, have to turn in tight and go much slower... it's not certain it is slower at all.

But for me, slower or not is irrelevant, it's the simply choosing "I don't feel like doing that corner, it's too difficult, I'm just going to keep going straight".... since when is that okay in racing.

We saw Button do a huge lock up and still made a corner, bottas I think had a large lock up into the final corner and instead of going wide, he just slowed and had a bad corner and lost time as a result. Multiple cars locked up, including Hamilton and lost time in corners. The only other people that went off track were either avoiding collisions (perez and Bottas for example) or had a massive error and had no choice but to miss the corner like Kvyat.
