It was a long wait but well worth it, I cant see the race being half as exciting.
That was pretty spectacular pole lap, over a second, in worsening conditions, Ferraris nowhere to be seen, Bottas nowhere to be seen.

Race will be bore fest same old Ham driving off into distance.

A lot of the drivers up there will drop down the race tomorrow is suppose to be dry I bet they went for wet setups.

I do not think the lap was anything special it's the best car he has been with that team years he knows about it Bottas on other hand has only just come in so still not know everything about it and he has not driven in the wet with this car before has he.

One thing about Bottas he does alright in the pack Ham does nothing unless out in front or going against people with old worn tires.

With that Merc engine he's going to be interesting tomorrow. I just hope he doesn't get too excited and do something silly on the first lap!

I hope not. Would be futile trying to overtake really as Lewis would likely easily pass him straight away anyway. Stroll's best best is to let Lewis go and defend all he can against ocon.

Yeh, 1.5 seconds faster than everyone else, is nothing : /

It does mean a lot of faster cars are out of position, that is gearing up to be a far more interesting race than if it was Merc 1-2, Ferrari 3-4, RBR 5-6, in which case it would likely turn into a procession.

Sure Hamilton might cruise to a win, but we should have more actual action in the race tomorrow than most races.

Wow, the amount of hate for Hamilton is insane. Yeh over 1.5 seconds is nothing, he has the best car blah blah. The conditions effectively nullified any advantage the Merc has, that lap was pure driver talent. End of. Armchair F1 team principles are just hilarious

Yeah it's pathetic. There are a couple of people at work who absolutely hate Hamilton yet, when I press them for a genuine reason why, they can't give me one. The most they come up with is irrelevant rubbish about his lifestyle or some other crap.

Amazing laps by Stroll and Ocon, absolutely brilliant. I just wish qualy was like that everytime.

Agreed. I don't get how anyone can detract from hamiltons achievements.

Hamilton needs to be leading the championship by the end of this race. I suspect Vettel will be 2nd or 3rd by the end of the race though.

If Mercedes are strong at Singapore then Hamilton is laughing.

I don't think it can be denied that he is one of the fastest F1 drivers ever. He has the all time pole record now for starters!

So if it's about the driver why wasn't people like Alonso or Vettel fighting for pole the car still makes a big difference.

You Ham fanboys are hilarious

Records can be read in many ways the truth is he has always been in big team and when he had that spell at Mclaren when the car was not the best he did nothing kept crashing and Button showed him up.

Merc car has destroyed the rest and he has been their from the beginning of them dominating (others did the hard work for him to just step into) it's the only reason he has broken records

I always seem to hear "... Yeah, but he's arrogant, thinks he's the best."

No, every single driver on the grid thinks they are the best or they wouldn't be able to handle F1. I think in Hamilton's case his arrogance is well founded.

Hm, i wonder why he has always been in a big team.....maybe because he is a brilliant driver?

Also, how did Button show him up? Lewis beat him in 2 out of the three championships that they were in the same car in.
